I think there should be a matchmaking type thing. Sorta like minecraft PC but like you host a game and you can name the server edit the settings give what permissions you want people to have and even maybe have like a economy world where like the crafting bench becomes a shop and players can buy whatever you put in there like tools, weapons, food etc... I think that would be awesome and a lot more people would play minecraft xbox 360 edition. Also it would be awesome if we could set the games to open so like random people can search for your game and join rather then they ether have to be your friend or a friend of a friend.

This can easily be solved by putting "Online Game" and taking off the "Invite Only" option. This will allow everyone to join your game.
As for crafting tables becoming shops - no thanks. That is kind of like RPG.

Yes but it only will allow friends and friends of friends. But what I mean is to make it so people can search for games to play. Like cod or halo matchmaking but instead of it being a random game you join have like a server list you can pick from and join that game. That way your not limited to just playing with friends or friends of friends. As for the crafting bench becoming a shop i meant like a game mode like easy, normal, hard, and then there could be like economy where there will still be enemy's but the crafting bench becomes a shop or have a new block type that works as a shop. It would be lots of fun me and my friends would never get off minecraft if they did that and it would make the game last longer cause right now pretty much all there is to do is start a world, build a house, go mining and go to the end.
I get what your saying. Or maybe on the economy game mode "shops" can randomly generate, and they have chests with different items and there can be a villager as a cashier who "makes" you pay with gold ingots before leaving with your loot.

I like the 'quick match' idea... But what does that have to do with an economy? Or why does Minecraft need an economy anyway??
Because it would make the game more interesting like here's one way of looking at it.
Say you start up a economy world right well instead of just mining for your resources and and going straight to the end in like a day.
You'd have to talk to a villager and they would give you a job...mining, lumberjack, black smithing, farming and only having that job means you can do those things so if your a farmer you can't go mining and if your a miner you can't farm. So depending on which villager you talk to will depend what job you do. Also there could be levels like for miner the higher level the more valuable stuff you'll find/able to mine, the farmer the higher level you are the better your crops are in other words have a better chance of getting more wheat, carrots, patatos when you break them, and for the lumberjack the higher level it is the more types of wooden items you'll be able to make like wood buttons, wood slabs, wood doors, wood stairs, bowls, ladders, bows, trap doors, etc... I think that would be cool and it would make the game last longer and not just mine then go to the end.

I think it's an interesting concept, but I'd much rather the developers concentrate on things like the redstone update. That will keep me occupied for quite a while.

NOTE: The part that I put in bold is the part I am referring to.
You do not just mine and go to the End. It is a sandbox game. YOU do what you want. YOU fill in the gaps. People do not just mine and go to the End. We build (after all, whats the purpose of mining). We survive. We play and we do whatever we want.

You have point. I guess I get bored easily cause like if I start a survival I can sit there for hours building a city and then I don't have anybody to look at it or play my worlds cause my friends get bored within like 10 minutes. That's why I would love a matchmaking system cause then I could play with new people.

I agree. I sometimes tend to get bored for almost no reason at all.

If you're so easily bored with the game then perhaps this is not the game for you. I mean no disrespect, but if it requires a fundamental change to the entire mechanics of the game then it may be better for you and your friends to find another game that offers you what you want.

Don't get me wrong I love minecraft I can play it for hours it just be nice to have other people join. If you've ever played total miner you'd understand what I'm talking about.

Huh... Yeah I get it now.
I still don't think the whole "economy" thing is very good.. despite the good points given.
But.. I do really like being able to join just a random game with people.. etc. That's a great idea.
Half of what makes minecraft fun for me... is just being able to play with people. When I play with others... we all feed off of eachother's style of play, building, and we create things really quite remarkable.
Thanks Junokaii. It's not like I'm saying change the whole game just saying have a game mode for economy type worlds that would be fun. Like I said if you'd played total miner you'd understand what I'm talking about.

I agree. I also enjoy being able to join games with random people. I tend to get... lonely

I agree with Junokaii. Whats the purpose of a "economy" game mode?
