Hello People of the minecraft forums. Today I am bringing a possibly cool idea for minecraft. A day or two ago I was at my xp farm trying to get another set of enchanted armor and tools. While I was waiting for the farm to fill up I was thinking of the combination of enchantments that could be used to give me the most protection.
I thought of an attachment that could be added to the armor where potions could be set into the armor and possibly toggled (unsure if this would be to overpowered because it removes the duration debuff potions have) to give the wearer the potion effect. Maby even the potion could have an amount of uses like 3 so it would be able to be less overpowered.
I was also thinking that there could be different sizes depending on the material you used. Like iron had one potion slot, gold with two, and diamond with 3 potion slots. The recipe would be obsidian in the middle surrounded by the metal of choice. But with gold you would have to make 2 and put them together, and the same goes with diamond except you have to do this 3 times. Also this item should degrade every time it is used so you don't have and unlimited amount of uses. Or it could even break when the armor itself breaks, like it is a permanent attachment to the armor itself and cannot be removed.
There are 2 way this could be made. You should either have to put the armor piece of your choice and the potion piece in a crafting table to make it, or there could even be a slot for the item itself. here is and Example of how this would work: Say you were down low on health and you have the potion piece attached, and say you had a potion of healing and a potion of fire resistance attached. All you would have to do is press a button and either you have a bar on the side of your screen that slowly depletes the more you use it or you say each potion has 3 uses so you then only have 2 left, and there you go you are healed and are Fire resistant. Now I don't have a name for it and it has a lot of options so feel free to give it a name and see what are the best options for this.

I like this suggestion... But I gotta say.. put some spaces between the suggestion... gave me a headache trying to read this.
But yeah.. I do like this.
say.. adding a potion of swiftness, a potion of fire resistance, and a potion of projectile resistance could give you the ability to walk quicker, and half fire and projectile protection.

Extending the duration or number of uses of potions (especially to infinity) is definitely overpowered.
If instead it added extra slots to your hotbar specifically for potions (your armor type can extend your inventory minutely) that you could then just op to use 'as' potions when needed, I might support it after some discussion. But as long as it is powering up the potions, I don't because I feel it is too overpowered for the game.

If you look into the the topic a bit more I also gave the option for it to have a bar off to the side that would slowly drain as you use it. Then it would be limited and not overpowered because if you just convert how much time you have to how much the bar is filled it would slowly deplete compared to how much time would pass by.
All tho I do believe that it should have less time or less of a use. To somewhat understand what I mean here is and example: When you use gunpowder to make a splash potion it takes a bit of the time off the potion duration. The same would happen when you put the potion in the slot, instead it would just have less of an effect.

Yeah... I read that part... I wasn't too keen on that idea.... but I suppose if your are exchanging duration (or number of uses) for overall effectiveness, then I suppose it does remain somewhat balanced for game play. Would the Armor slot effects stack with drinking a similar potion? How would the player access the controls/armor potion slots on the side bar (esp. when most of the buttons are already in use)?

But then you may as well just drink a potion... and forget about this suggestion altogether... I for one really love this idea.
I do see how this could be OP... But.. Maybe... in exchange for each additive to the armor slots with potions.. you lose 10% durability.. so that way it only lasts 30% shorter than normal per say

Yes you could, but it gives you additional inventory slots added onto your hotbar for use with potions under what I suggested, rather than modifying the effects or duration of the potions...I don't know... I'm just having a hard time getting behind this one.
A way to visualize this would be to add a second wear bar to the armor, the potion buff bar.
It would take damage separate from the armor based on damage taken and distance traveled. This way it allows people to make armor more fun without breaking it entirely.
Instances of the potion / potion on armor would cancel each other out. (Only fair)
Maybe add that if you drink potions/ get hit by splash with it equipped it removes the buffs from the armor
Good idea but Minecraft Xbox 360 Version (and Playstation versions) are based on Minecraft PC version. Mojang would have to agree on this and add it into the PC version before it could be added to console versions.
I don't believe that this is a true statement.... otherwise, there is really no point at all to the Suggestions forum for consoles.

I was worried about this. I'm not seeing any feed back from 4j on the suggestion boards at this time but that could just be from lack if time.
It won't stop me from posting my ideas but it just goes to show that these ideas have to be great to get the right attention.

Thanks much better.
Didn't mean to seem rude I just found it hard to keep track of what parts I was reading so thanks.
