Pc version has a lot of mods that entertain them but we can't get mods so we have to speak up so we can get a mode that can entertain us. I think it should, as a DLC where Villagers give quests to you. I feel like the game needs to be more interactive( Some may think otherwise.) I think it should be a tale of a warrior who becomes a King and ends up fighting a large group of enemy mob with his entire army. ( It could be any story. I just want an Interactive Minecraft Story and if you don't like the idea of a story that's why it could be a DLC meaning you don't have to get it.) Let me know what you think in the comments below, Support or No Support.
Why does ever story mode have to turn into an RPG with villagers when it comes up as a suggestion?
No, this is a open-world sandbox game where the only limit is what you can come up with, including the story.
Why not let people wonder and fill in the gaps for themselves?
Some games have no real story and turned out to be great (take LIMBO for example).
If you want a story mode I have a friend that build a self explaining story on one of his maps. You could play it if you want. But as stated above, build a story yourself. They gave us all the tools, the only limitation is your imagination.
I've wondered about the possibility of a 'Story Mode' for Minecraft but, ultimately, it would work against the game for a couple reasons.
One, this is why a lot of people roleplay with Minecraft. Think of it in a Dungeons and Dragons context where one or more people set up the world or adventure and have people work their way through it to the treasure or whatever the case might be. Pretty easy to pull off.
Two and most importantly, it would detract from developers focusing on implementing new content that all users would benefit from. Don't forget that this isn't a blockbuster franchise like Halo or Mass Effect. There are only, pretty much, a handful of people working on Minecraft (especially the console version) compared to the massive amounts of manpower that other games typically have.
If you're really pushing for an all out RPG type experience than I can only suggest you get involved with the PC version which has much more to offer or find solace in a more suitable game to your tastes.
Adventure Mode is close to what you are requesting, and offers an open ended interface for the host to build their story to share with others. This has already been suggested. But to build in a story as complex as you have just defined is not within the confines of the game itself... you mentioned elements such as:
Villagers give quests to you
(not currently in the game, but easy enough to add, similar to the trading interface)
a tale of a warrior who becomes a King
(How are you defining the progression to king? Do we need a crown or something? I suppose you could use enchanted gold armor...but I would prefer unenchanted diamond personally).
(the player) ends up fighting a large group of enemy mob with his entire army
(This is particularly difficult as now you would have to adjust how MOB's Spawn and have NPC hirelings who could help in the foray)
Following those that spoke above, MC is a sandbox game that is open to your imagination, it has one basic quest that I'm aware of, 'slay the enderdragon', and that isn't even required in order to fully enjoy the game.
to all the people complaining about how the idea is stupid and how minecraft is meant to be an open sand box world etc. think about this on the pc minecraft is extremely open and almost nothing is holding you back from adding anything you want say textures and mods, with this i love minecraft because almost anything can change and the game is still good, i mean come on if something is removed the game itself is still really good and honestly i think 4j should be open to do some of these requests that don't seem like mc culture i hate it when people do that what i have noticed on the forums and i don't think it is really cared about allot of people put down your idea that is 1 of the stupidest things i have seen on the forums i will respect any idea i see here and this really seems like a good idea!
Skyrim, Oblivion, Two Worlds, Fable, Far Cry, all these and more have both a story and are RPG in nature. go play one of them. it'll blow your mind. or, and here's a crazy idea, we can use the sandbox game to make our own story! have some imagination. stop depending on others to tell you what's entertainment. the purpose of a sandbox is for you to make your own adventures.

Stay fluffy~
Really, though, story mode makes no sense. I was being sarcastic above. Can you tell us what the story IS though?
