What is up guys! KSO here and I know a GREAT suggestion that I BET a LOT of people want. Especially well known gamers who play MineCraft.
Can you guess?
Lobby Player Limits!
Why is the limit 8!
I know a lot of people like YouTubers want more players in there lobbies that do Let's Play PvP's and such!
I recently got like 30 people messaging me because they heard I have a bunch of Hunger Games Maps and host Lobbies all the time ( [redacted] ) BUT not all can join!
Why you ask?
Because the limit is 8! Come on Notch!
We need more players!
Xbox 360 MineCraft is getting VERY popular!
All I ask, and I think this goes for a lot of other people, that you AT LEAST double the player limit!
Ever seen a game with lobby limit as 8 players? NO you haven't! Almost all games are 16 players!
Help Xbox 360 MineCraft get MORE popular!
Let MORE people play!
Give people MORE good reasons to buy this game!
It's a WIN WIN for everyone!
So ALL i ask is that you guys just please at least double the limit!
That problem is that if the host has a junk connection it will tend to drop users. The chances go up for each additional user since the host server now has to upload a lot more data. MC is a very resource intensive game compared to most others. It will require not only better hardware but better local infrastructure as well. Some people live in the boonies......
They have been adding new and crazy things in updates for PC MC ALL the time! They HAVE the ability to make a server capable of that many players! It's time you take a break from the PC version and start trying to satisfy your other customers (Xbox and PS3 players) The PC version has gotten way to much. Now let us have a chance to enjoy the same abilities and privileges they have!

Notch and Mojang AB don't work on the console (XBox) version, they are consultants for it and only focus on the PC/Java version.
Steve and 4J Studios is the company responsible for converting the Java code and porting it over to the console format. One of the problems that arises is that there are no remote (off site) servers for the XBox 360 platform, and basically the Host's console and their internet connection will be what serves as the hosting 'Server' for the game.
Are there ways around this? Yes... but not without some effort. The current design of MC is a Client/Server design, and this works fine in the PC world where you can set up actual 24/7 remote access Servers, but (largely due to politics between 4J Studios and Microsoft and the Terms of Service agreement) this is not a viable option for many of the consoles. Alternatively, 4J could expend resources and energy redesigning the client/server into a peer to peer design architecture. This would be a massive redesign undertaking and would put a lot of their current work to produce updates on hold for quite awhile, but in the end, could potentially offer players the experience of 24/7 servers and potentially vastly more players might be allowed in a game.
I actually agree with 720KS0720, and here is why; if we want to push our internet upload speed to the limit then by god, let us. Artificial constraints on a game are the worst. You are not protecting us from anything with that limit. Most of us are smart enough to realize if we don't have great upload speeds we won't be able to host 16+ players simultaneously anyways, or even if we can the chunks loading will be miserable for everyone. MC is one of the most bare bones multiplayer games there is for xbox to be honest. Most comparable games have many more features and pretty much all first person multiplayer games allow 16+ players in a single lobby these days.

Two reasons:
MC uses a client/host format for multiplayer while the other games you may be referencing likely use dedicated servers.
And Microsoft has policies that demand developers ensure their games have a certain degree of playability. While the devs cant control lag due to poor upload speed, they can install preventive measures that ensure hosts with "average" connections can support a full lobby.
