When you're trying to trap a chicken (or any breed-able mob) and you are leading it to where its pen is going to be and then you switch to the blocks you're building with and the chicken runs off, wouldn't it be nice to be able to drop the wheat seeds and have the chicken go towards the wheat seed resource block? This'd help with trying to catch chickens
not to sound rude, but thats why you build the pen first, then lead the animal into it.

Unless your pen is excessively small, leading even a large group of chickens into the opposite side of the pen would still allow you to get out and keep them in.
