I think Dragon Eggs should be an item that you can get in the block menu, rather than having to kill the Ender Dragon in creative mode and then using a piston to get it as a item. It would be so much easier and less time consuming.
Also, mob spawners should be an item in creative mode, rather then getting a dispenser and putting mob spawn eggs in them. You can choose if you want a skeleton spawner, zombie spawner, spider spawner, etc.

Eh I'm not worried about there being a few threads for one idea... it's them that do.
More attention one idea gets in multiple threads the more whomever might see that this is an idea worth exploring.
The thing I'll never really understand why they work the way they do is... "wishlists".
Some things... Yeah I'll admit are wish lists because they're just a bunch of random ideas shoved into one thread.
But an example is like this. They closed a thread down that I thought was really good. Because.. it had to do with giving the Nether an 'overhaul'. And it listed a lot of things about the Nether and a bunch of ideas. While different, they were similar and all had to do with the Nether. But it was closed down due to being a "wish list".
So instead of having all those idea's in one thread where we could all discuss the ideas in one thread, because of the rules... It had to be turned into 8 different threads pretty much that spammed the thread boards where no one could possible keep track of all of them. They don't like spamming and unnecessary-ness, but they don't allow the boards to be condensed and take away spamming, less threads needed for each topic, and easier navigation.
I was very annoyed when they closed that thread. Because I thought it had a lot of potential to be talked with.
But.. whatever.. it's their methods.. Even if it is kinda dumb.

Wishlists are when several items listed are either unrelated or not directly tied to each other. the author of that original post in your example didn't make a whole lot of effort tying those ideas together any more than the ideas were all just loosely 'Nether related'. As a counter example, I've offered a similar thread with multiple suggestions that were related and I explained how that wasn't shut down in the following:

So while wishlists are not allowed, a little bit of effort to directly relate ideas together can go a long way to avoid threads from being locked.
Even if it is more loosely based, it still all had to do with giving the nether an 'overhaul'. I would've seriously loved to have chatted in there
Even though your idea and whomever's idea for there shall be war (which I never chatted in I think it's too far in to get involved), to me... it appears like that could be locked easier than that one. Though i like your idea as well.
I just think they need to.. readjust how they lock 'wishlists'. If it literally is like "I think we should add different zombies, vehicles, building blocks, tools and blah blah blah" I can understand because yeah they literally don't really have any correlation with eachother.. But in my opinion that one did entirely. Even if it didn't 'follow the rules' on a technicality, it all had to do with one topic and how it can be improved.
To me if they really just relaxed 'wishlists' then this place wouldn't be a forum where the topics stretch out far and wide as far as the eye can't see.

I think that the original thread was locked as a wish list because there was no effort to justify the ideas or explain the overall concept on how they were tied together. I think if done right, and explained properly, this could have taken off without being locked as a wish list... when I read that link, however, I'm seeing:
I want: a, b, c, d, e changed/added with some description as to what is being suggested
...but no real details beyond that.
For example, if it was worded more like:
Posted 01 August 2013 - 05:07 PM So just like the title suggests, I am going to list off a bunch of cool things that could be part of the Nether(Don't open with stating "Hey! Here's a Wish List!")
I would like to propose some major changes to revamp and overhaul the Nether to make it a much more interactive and interesting place for Players to explore:
Nether Villages-
Houses just the same as the Overworld, but made out of Cobblestone, Netherbrick, Netherrack, and maybe Glowstone. They could be inhabited by Demons/Nether Dwellers/Nether People, something to that effect.
The idea of some sort of demonic or hellish civilization... maybe with a lot of patches on fire and rivers and pools of lava near by could be an interesting twist to the overworld village and villager counterpart.
Demons/Nether Dwellers/Nether People-
I haven't made up names for the different occupations (or if there even needs to be), but they would be able to trade with the player still. I'm not sure what types of items would be traded, but that could be decided later.
This idea quite obviously goes along with the idea of Nether Villages, If there are villages, there needs to be some sort of inhabitants for those villages. So, here we are proposing a 'hellish' fireproof version of the Overworld Villager to inhabit the above suggested villages. (Tying it to the above idea)
Possible Tame-able mob-
I decided to call this one an Imp. The Imp would be able to defend the player and follow them around just like a dog, but wouldn't fight against a Ghast since they fly and are destructors of everything (almost). To fight they could maybe shoot fire or something. Then to tame them, you would need to give them gold nuggets.
With villages, of course goes having some pets around the house to help protect those residents and structures, plus, it would be additionally nice to have some pets to follow you around in the Nether as well. (Tying it to the above ideas)
Possible Nether boss-
This could be called a Devil. The devil would attack by shooting fireballs like a Ghast, hacking with a fiery sword. The Devil wouldn't be always around like the Enderdragon though, he would have to be summoned in some special way, or you have to enter the Nether Fortress that it lives in to make the Nether more inhabitable. (Moving to the end as it is not immediately related to village Life.)
New weapons/Mining items-
I had the thought that there should be a bridge between the Iron and Diamond tools in terms of durability, so this could be it.
Plus, if were going to go so far as to propose a community and culture in the Nether through the addition of nether villages and Nether villagers of some sort, there should be some armor, weapons, and tools to help flesh out that ambiance.
Nether Sword:
This could be made just like swords are now, but would need Netherbrick instead of Wood, Cobblestone, Iron, or Diamonds. It could also be an added feature to put Blaze Powder around the Netherbrick like so--
BP,NB,BP
BP,NB,BP
X,Stick,X
The extra fire part could set Overworld mobs on-fire, and causes an extra heart of damage to Nether mobs.
Nether Pickaxe:
Same as the other pickaxes just with Netherbrick
Nether Hoe:
Same as the other Hoes just with Netherbrick
Nether Shovel:
Same as the other Shovels just with Netherbrick
I don't think the other tools would need the added fire effect.
Possible Nether boss- (Moved to here.)
Although not directly related to the Nether culture and civilization, villages and people and such, I feel that the Nether could use a special summoned MOB similar to the Whither in that it is conjured, but specifically tailored to the Nether environment.
These are just some subtle changes that make this seem more like a contiguous concept rather than some loosely related but otherwise disjoint ideas.... more of a concept and less of a wishlist (IMO).

To me that would be a pretty odd argument against it on their point of view. Yeah I get what you're saying.. But I still think it should've stayed open.
Wouldn't you think that having multiple ideas in each thread would be better than having to make 6 because you need to spread out the ideas in separate threads? I would much rather have that tbh
Agreed, but I don't make/enforce the rules. If it were me, I would have kept it open as related content... I personally wouldn't have seen it as a wish list because I can see where the OP was coming from... however, on the flip side, I can see how a Moderator might see it as a Wishlist as well... it is a bit of a subjective call that is made at the spur of the moment that hinges off a quick assessment and is largely influenced by opinion at the time.... and when you have multiple moderators, then where one might not see it as a wish list and the next does, the topic can still get locked by the second moderator.

Yeah... It sucks. I think I had one closed due to being a 'wishlist' in a similar fashion. When I look more into it.. I'm surprised my "Seaweed, Fish, and other underwater decorations" wasn't closed then lol
Sounds reasonable to me. Fully support. +1 up vote.

If you're meaning just creative mode... Then yeah I agree. Otherwise.. I don't see the point of it being in the normal block menu.
I also did create a thread before about the second suggestion you made.
But good ideas.
Its just for creative, not survival.
Oh sorry I didn't know
