I've had an idea. On Pc minecraft there is a mod that you can get that allows you to capture mobs inside of eggs, witch creates the mob egg with only one use. I think that it would be cool for things like pranking friends or even getting animals into an area easily if it is implemented into xbox. But it should be expensive to do so this ability is not abused. So in my thinking I decided for the egg to have the ability to capture a mob you should have to enchant the egg with 10 - 15 levels. Also this way you can't just harvest a lot of eggs and just go around throwing them at every mob you see. Maby even the possibility for the capture to not work unless you enchant it a higher level, such as:
Level 10: 50% Chance to capture
Level 11: 60% Chance to capture
Level 12: 70% Chance to capture
Level 13: 80% Chance to capture
Level 14: 90% Chance to capture
Level 15: 100% Chance to capture
This would make this ability useful but not over used. Also there is the chance that you will miss so its not a guaranteed capture every time. Tell me what you guys think.

Seems kind of a "just because" suggestion to me, But at the same time... It seems like it could be fun I think.
But would each enchanted egg just be one egg, or would it require a dozen eggs?
Just reading this I thought of one quite similar to yours actually.
And would it be.. Say... Random? Or does it require something else in the making process? Like would you just take it to an enchantment table with 15 levels, and have a 100% chance of getting anything? Or is there specifics based on each level?
Honestly, you should not ever be able to control mobs in such a way in survival.
Passive mobs can be lured already and I suppose aggressive can be too.
And capturing aggressive mobs and being able to release them on command is a big no-no for online play. It would end up being used for almost nothing but griefing.
It's a "Pokemon Catch 'N Return Poke Ball"!!!! ..... without the "Return" part.....
I like the idea overall, but I don't play MP online, and as BloodyPhoenix pointed out, this could be abused by griefers who already have way too much free rein.

I believe it was originally suggested that the enchantment just give you back an empty 'enchanted capture MOB egg' with a certain percentage chance of capture that you would then have to find a MOB and 'use' it on in order to capture it. It certainly would make transporting villagers a lot easier to repopulate abandoned or even new villages...
I Wonder why people under estimate the fishing rod. When I see PC LPers use leads, I get kind of annoyed thinking "The fishing rod would be so much more effective!"

Oh so that's what the capture part meant.
I wasn't entirely sure. I thought it was just the idea of having the spawn eggs from creative where you can select whatever one and spawn out mobs etc but in survival.
Hmm....... I can.... see it sort of... But... I'd like it better just as the ability to spawn them not capture them, because like you said it's doable where you can just lure them in other ways. And the aggressive ones also like you said just sort of follow you, so this would really be.. overall unnecessary. But it's a decent idea to say the least anyway.

How exactly? Like using the rod as a "leash" you can grab and drag animals etc with?

I understand how you think this could be used mainly for Griefing but if you have the trust players option off then then anybody you don't trust will not be able to use the egg even if they had one since you would have to technically place the egg as you would a block. So I personally don't think it would be used as a griefing tool. Also tnt would be easier to acquire because you have to spenc a minimum of 10 experience levels to just get 1 creeper.
Tried what? grabbing mobs with the fishing rod? Yeah I have but far as I can tell... It doesn't pull them just by attaching it to them and walking. I thought you had to just throw it at them... then push LT to pull them?
