As far as I'm concerned it would just not allow you to craft the bed.. I definitely agree that if it combined all the colors it would be much too complicated. This is a good point though because in survival when hastily gathering resources before the first night approaches, players may not find 3 sheep of the same color. Interesting point made which should be discussed!
Thanks for taking that in mind!
I personally think that the ability of making a bed out of different color wool should be removed or give you the usual red color,
But I´d like to hear what you guys have to say

I personally think that if you make it out of three different colors, the bed's color should be the color of the wool in the middle. Besides, it's not like anyone would make an ugly bed like that unless they're goofing around.

Yesterday I was on my way to class, when a black cat fell from the sky. I didn't really know what that nonsense was about so I asked him if I could step around him because he was bad luck, but he simply meowed and then disappeared. I was a bit worried that maybe he'd teleported to Afghanistan or somewhere equally dangerous, but a wizard came and assured me that it was alright. I threw my Zune at him because I was 78% sure he was lying. The wizard roared at me and sentenced my mother to thirty five years of chain smoking. I was sad.
Am I the only one that thinks this is a bad idea? I mean, I like the concept of having colored beds and all, but why not just use a dye? It's a whole lot less coding for 4J, too.
It's funny because I was JUST about to post the same suggestion! I am totally on this one!

Or maybe they are starting survival and only found a brown, a white and a gray sheep

I'm not sure if you realise you are on the 360 forum or what, but there is no "middle" on the xbox's crafting interface.
Okay, Deskepticon has a point, this would solve the problem with the 3 different color wool and would make 4J able to release this faster because is way less coding. Also it would be good to have another use for dyes, that way I can use some of my lapis that I dont use in anything
Great idea, a bit useless, but I would nonetheless love to see it.
As for the issue of beds with different kinds of wool, it always could have stripes in the color of the 3 kinds of wool. Not sure if that would be too much to program though...

Just imagine, there are 16 different color wool, which can be used in combos of 3. And with your suggestion the order of the wool would matter so just make some calculations and tell me how much combinations there could be. A lot right?
If not able to find all the wool needed to create the color bed you want, then an option to change that with the dyes already in the game is a good alternative. As for if you're missing parts of the recipe for making "a" bed, then just go along with crafting the standard red one.
It's a small suggestion, but a good one nonetheless. I would support this.
Good discussion. I do agree that quite a bit of coding would be involved however, if you were to combine all three wool colors together. There would be a total of 4,056 different possible combinations of bed color... Same if you added different types of wood and what not. I think the more basic the better.

Yes, and 4056 is right around the maximum Block ID limit for the new Anvil format the xbox is upgrading to. So stripped beds is a great idea if you don't mind the only other block in the game is cobble.
Sorry. I kid. The point is this is a LOT of coding, and a LOT of resource drain.
I agree with W3ird here... the simplier the better.
Add 16 new crafting recipes: a bed plus + dye = colored bed, and 15 new textures to the existing bed. Done and done.
Different colored beds is long overdue and this might keep my daughter from sleeping in my bed all the time but it won't keep her cat from sitting on it.
I was thinking the other day that instead of having just a standard red bed, players should be able to use orange wool with wooden planks to make an orange bed as opposed to red. The same would go for any color used to make a bed! I think this would be pretty awesome!
Agree 100% Soon we will be able to die the dogs collars, so hopefully this gets more attention.

Yes, it is a lot of coding.
Can't say it is as simple as that, but that is the basic way to go about that....

I believe this is a great simple crafting recipe instead of having the recipe include 3 dyed wool (Of the Player's Choosing) and the wooden planks.
