Diamond Swords have a lot of durability but will break quickly. Even on Easy! So they should introduce more weapons. Maybe a bow that always shoot flaming arrows or never uses up arrows, but here are some other ideas:
Pheonix Blade: Always lights enemies on fire. Twice the durability of a diamond sword. Obtain by defeating the wither. Does 4 hearts damage.
Pheonix Daggers: Can be thrown at the enemy, lighting then on fire. Crafted from 2 nether brick and 2 sticks.
Does 3 hearts damage by itself. Crafting recipe gives you 3 daggers
Lightning Daggers: Thrown at the enemy. When it hits the enemy it summons lightning. the dagger does 2 hearts damage by itself. Crafted from 2 gold nuggets, 2 sticks and 3 iron ingot's. Crafting recipe gives you 3 daggers
Crossbow: Fires arrows faster than a bow doing 7 hearts damage. Crafted from 3 sticks and 2leather (to make the belt).
Musket: Made from 4 wooden planks and 2 iron. Basically a sword and a bow combined because back when they used to use muskets they had a point on the end. Bullets are made from 2 gunpowder and 1 iron. Bullet deals 7 hearts damage and the point (right click) deals 3 hearts damage. Crafting recipe gives you 3 bullets
Machine Gun: Crafted from 2 redstone and 7 iron. Deals 0.5 hearts damage per shot. The crafting recipe of 1 gunpowder and 1 iron gives you 5 bullets.
I may have gone overboard on the guns but please support!
machine guns are a given no. muskets have been debated. phoenix and lighting weapons are...well...dumb enchant a sword and call it whatever you want. and your idea for a crossbow would make a regular bow obsolete because its way OP. now if it fired slower and did more damage youre in the right neighborhood. your ideas fit in great with pc mods but we're talking about vanilla xbox.

Agreed, enchanted weapons are already in the game, including bows with infinite arrows. Enchantments should be enchantments and you can call it what ever you want once it is enchanted.

The way I envisioned using a crossbow that it has a one tap to release, so it was quick to fire, but had a drawn out load phase, about twice that of a bow until the bolt locks into place (then you can release the trigger and it will be set for the next time it needs to be fired. The fired crossbow bolt would fly a bit straighter than the arrow in flight, and do about 1.5 x damage as an arrow (bow and arrow is more efficient for damage output over multiple shots in quick succession due to being faster on reload, but the crossbow allows the quick hit and switch to sword or other melee weapon)
To add to that, the bolt might only stay loaded while you are actively holding the crossbow, changing the focus off the crossbow should probably unload it, that would help to avoid people who put 8 loaded crossbows in their hot bar for rapid fire succession.

Have the same sort of mechanics as the fishing rod just a little faster, but it does obviously way more damage and has different sound.
can we use it to grab items and swing places? i'd love to be indiana jones. especially when we get temples. that's who minecraft steve is. indiana jones' and bear grylls' son. but not shia lebouf. the other son. who was too busy on an adventure to be in a movie.

hahaha. yeah I was thinking that as a possibility. But I didn't think it would go well with the community so I didn't bother xD
i think it would be quite cool if you could get an enchantment that would let you decapitate your enemie and then let you keep the head. i dont know it would just be cool.
Diamond Swords have a lot of durability but will break quickly. Even on Easy! I hunt for fun and my swords last me quite a while. You're doing something wrong.
So they should introduce more weapons. Maybe a bow that always shoot flaming arrows or never uses up arrows, Infinity + Flame, bam.
but here are some other ideas:
Pheonix No. Blade: Always lights enemies on fire. Twice the durability of a diamond sword. Obtain by defeating the wither. Does 4 hearts damage. Fire Aspect enchantments work fine, and something that lasts that many hits is down-right crazy. The damage is understandable, though that's its only redeeming aspect.
Pheonix No. Daggers: Can be thrown at the enemy, lighting then on fire. Crafted from 2 nether brick and 2 sticks.
Does 3 hearts damage by itself. Crafting recipe gives you 3 daggers This is quite cheap for a throwable Fire Charge, hmm?
Lightning Daggers: Thrown at the enemy. When it hits the enemy it summons lightning. the dagger does 2 hearts damage by itself. Crafted from 2 gold nuggets, 2 sticks and 3 iron ingot's. Crafting recipe gives you 3 daggers What is with people and becoming Zeus? It creeps me out. The damage is fine, but Steve isn't a god in this sense.
Crossbow: Fires arrows faster than a bow doing 7 hearts damage. Crafted from 3 sticks and 2leather (to make the belt). A cheaper and more powerful bow? No thanks. Bows are mighty powerful with enchantments as is. They don't need an equal counterpart.
Crafting recipe gives you 3 bullets I could say a lot, but I'll stay quiet on this one.
Machine Gun: Crafted from 2 redstone and 7 iron. Deals 0.5 hearts damage per shot. The crafting recipe of 1 gunpowder and 1 iron gives you 5 bullets. For the love of Talos, say you're joking.
I may have gone overboard on the guns but please support! No.
Look at my name. Now look at your post. Tsk, tsk.

that's really thought out

so far it hasn't.
Hope is definitely something that will never go away
that's a little morbid
hahahaha.
I do agree with it though. It'd be fun to chop limbs off and whatnot.
i remember when i first decapitated someone in skyrime. i picked up the head and it moved less than the body. it was like it gained 100 lbs
