I agree, I also hate when playing multiplayer on the half screen the one person has to wait while another types out a sign. The key board should just take up there half a screen.
Maybe, if we get the sneak+left click ability added in PC 1.4.6, you can edit it by using LT, and if you want to place a block, then you can sneak and then place it (like if you want to place a torch on a crafting table).

I was thinking you just walk up to it and hit LT like you do when you place it.. that sounds a bit too complicated than it needs to be.
But.. since I also just had the thought that if you could.. it'd be super easy for those annoying trolls of friends to edit your signs and confuse you or annoy the crap out of you perhaps make it account bound so they can't mess with them?? I dunno just suggestion.
edible signs... sounds yummy... wait that is too much fiber.
seriously though this would be a good thing to have, since it allows you to possibly figure out what you "can" put on signs without it being filtered arbitrarily by the ms filter. This way you wouldn't have to break & plant the sign back in place. All you would have to do is simply edit, edit, and more edit till you get what you need or want, if not close enough to present what you meant or wanted to show.:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

That's what I was saying. But if you wanted to use a sign as a base to place a block or another sign, you couldn't, as using LT would be changed to editing the sign. Thus, the Sneak+LT functionality would allow you to place a block by sneaking and pressing LT.
For people without chat pads this is extremely annoying. Being someone who creates PvP maps, I know what it is like to type out a long list of instructions on how to play the game via the signs. When I mess up it can be extremely frustrating. Another helpful thing that I am not sure if it has been suggested would be to see how many characters the player can fit onto one line of the sign. When spelling out a long word, it can be agonizing to find out that that word doesn't fit. So either have a character limit per line posted, or just auto bump that word down to the next line. But back to the idea at hand, I'd love to see this put into action. Support.

buy a chatpad.... can get 40 signs up in a minute! But i Would like to see the implement of it because sometimes i cannot find it and it drives ME CRAZY taking so long to write
In addition to the chat-pad, your XBox will accept any USB keyboard. I keep a keyboard plugged into mine at all times. It makes typing signs SOO much easier. You don't even have to bring up the XBox on-screen keyboard; You can type directly to the sign.
Still, I can't see why it would hurt to have editable signs.

My room is already a jungle because of all the cords from consoles, and my headset.. like I need another cord. (I know there's wireless keyboards but I don't own one)

Or they could just make an option to edit signs...

tbh, I thought this topic would show up earlier.
Editable signs would be nice though.
I support this! If I could I'd support this over 9000 TIMES.
LOL
Thanks
