Hardcore mode is the most useless feature. I can't see why anyone would want to play on a map that if they die they can't re-enter the game; but if host dies, all their work gets arbitrarily deleted. 4J made the call long ago not to add it and I support their choice. Anyone who wants to play "hardcore" can just delete their own world if they die.
Hardcore mode is USELESS. Delete your world if you die. I have done hardcore a few times, and when I die I get really annoyed because I had turned it into a great world. Never played it again.

Then why would you not continuing playing on that world? I Didn't know once you die, you have to delete your world.
That's the most stupidest thing I've ever heard. If you like the world, then don't delete. Not like you're recording or something

And no, it is not in .minecraft/saves or recycling bin.
hardcore mode is mainly aimed at single player, ppl make the mistake thinking they treat hardcore mode like a normal mode of MC, hardcore is mainly about surviving, and not building huge villages, so you wont be as disappointed about losing your map as you could have being,
I understand that... but then it really is a useless addition since a single player can easily set a rule for themselves and opt to delete a world if they die. Not being actually forced to do it just gives them the option of changing their mind IF they happened to get far enough along in the game to have created a world worth keeping. It's a lousy assumption that people playing in hard survival would never also want to build something spectacular.

Hardcore Does Not Equal Hard Survival, if they want to set that rule for themselves in Hard Survival, they are welcome to do so, Hardcore mode is for people that want to feel that bit of a rush to know that they don't have control over that outcome IF they happen to die. I think making the conscious decision to delete a world ahead of time takes away from some of the excitement a player could derive from Hardcore mode, and it wouldn't be for everyone either. It isn't a game setting that I would likely play in. I'm more of a builder in MC, and I want my creations to have a legacy, so I enjoy the security of playing, knowing that my world is safe regardless as to whether I die or not. But at the same time, I can see the allure for those that are more into the adventure/survival aspect of the game than they are into building.
IMO, Hardcore and Hard Survival should share many (if not all) of the same traits with the exception that you can respawn in Hard Survival, where you can't in Hardcore.
I would like it better if it did not force you to delete the world, it just gives you two options. Title screen or load last save. It should work somewhat like how it does in elder scrolls.

For that little itty bitty rush some would have of "not controlling the outcome," it's frankly just not worth the menu space on the screen... particularly when it plays so poorly in multiplayer worlds. As I said, I believe 4J made a conscious decision ages ago to leave it out... and I agree with their decision.

xD its not worthless there are many glitches to do in that gamemode. Like summoning a enderdragon. Its also showing you'r a boss that you die once you don't come back its like traing you.
