If you've ever hosted a PVP type map, you have noticed that in order to throw potions or ender pearls you have to give players the "Can Build and Mine" option. If you're hosting hunger games or puzzle maps, this can encourage players to cheat through a level without having to complete it, mine minerals they're not supposed to mine, or even grief. If there were a "Can throw objects" option in the Trust Players tab, us hosts could stop worrying about editing a map in such a way that incidents like these can't happen, and more about delivering the best experience on their Minecraft creations.
I think "Mine/Place Blocks" should only affect players ability to do those two actions. But instead they are unable to sleep in beds or jump in minecarts/boats. It makes it difficult screening new players.

Agreed. 4j Studios should try to make the tabs a little more specific next time around.

Mm.... I don't really see the point. I can see why, but.. every hunger games thing I've ever seen isn't very big.. I mean, you could try having the battlegrounds made of layers of obsidian with normal blocks on top of it.
There's things I think you could do without having to have an option to have it so people can't cheat.

I understand there are a lot of ways to fix the situation. Lets take Super Craft Bros as an example, it has very compact maps, has a heavy usage of potions, and due to the limitations of the Xbox version, it is very easy for one person to ruin everyone's experience. They can damage the spawn area in some way, create a waterfall down to the surface (very common), or create diamond tools and armor using the arena's properties. This really can make you think twice about the quality of a custom map, and can force you to spend hours of time consuming work just to get your map working the way it's supposed to.
The point is... we need more customizability! FOV sliders, toggle smooth lighting, render distance, HARDCORE MODE! It's what makes this game Minecraft.
