Okay, you place a repeater, but it can only push the current further in one direction.
Why not one that pushes currents on the front, left, and right sides of the repeater, while still having the same delays?
Have the redstone wire come from the backside, like a normal repeater, but instead of just pushing the current to go further in FRONT of the repeater, it also does it through the SIDES of the repeater, reducing space, and the need for multiples of repeaters to use with a wide variety of things, especially contraptions that involve lots of complicated formations to make it work within things like Mini games or what else.
I don't want to see a change to the existing repeater, I rely too heavily on its very unidirectional output at times, and need it to not cross contaminate other nearby circuitry... but if you are talking about a new block that does the same thing as the repeater but has multiple outputs, I'd support and would suggest this as a crafting recipe:
Redstone Dust | Repeater | Redstone Dust
(The Redstone Dust around the existing Repeater represent making output connections to the sides of the same device)
Maybe call it a Cross Repeater or a Multi-directional repeater.
Alternatively, the following recipe could be used instead:

Thoughts?Reducing the need for more space***

This recipe would allow for output to the block above and also allow (alternate) input from the block below.
Yeah that's pretty much how I was thinking as well.
I'm not very good at the whole diagram thing as you can see. Lol.
