I doubt we'll see witches that soon. I'll be happy with villager trading. I'd like to see more minable blocks that would give me more reason to stay in the nether. Also, when I'm in the nether, I'm the boss.

Junokaii (although I'd recommend not adding me because I'm on literally like... once every month or two)

I think it's hard enough.
You can't walk anywhere especially on hard mode without 14 ghasts shooting fire chargers at you. Only way I get around for exp etc is just to build cobblestone barriers over top of the walkways in the nether fortresses and walk inside them.
Between blazes, ghasts, pigmen, magma cubes... I think it's hard enough... :/
The wither probably won't be in tu14, Im not even sure if they CONFIRMED anything, to see CONFIRMED features go on 4j's twitter or go to minecraft Xbox upcoming features list.

BloxGaming360 I'm the one who is in your minecraft looking on a map, for you, your base, your friends.
I'm crafting that wood sword that will kill you and your friends.
I will not be beat nor killed. I laugh at your minecraft character getting killed by my wood sword.
Your friends will parish in to particals while I will be taking your ores and your valubles. Be prepared for the fight of your life.

Agreed. I get that the nether 'feels' like a hell realm in its ambiance, but that doesn't mean that the difficulty needs to be set to a point that it is totally demoralizing to a newer player.
Can I function in the Nether fine? yes. Does it take some planning and preparation to thrive in the Nether? again, yes.

Agreed, it would be nice to be able to find ores here or maybe some sort of Nether Wood from some sort of Ghastly Nether Tree, maybe the leaves and the wood itself burn perpetually like Netherrack, or is otherwise impervious to Fire, but the wood itself cannot be used in a furnace (for obvious reasons). Actually... black and without leaves, twisted and gnarled skeletal trees... if no leaves on the tree, then mining a wood block could yield a sapling (like flint from gravel).

Well... there is that Nether Fortress and all... it does feel like there should be something 'big' protecting the place.
