I like the idea of more noises. Maybe there can be more creepy sounds in the nether like a random scream. Would make the nether super creepy.
That's funny, in the overworld there are supposed to be creepy sounds that play when you're near a cave or a dark area. However, it seems they don't work because of the way they're coded. But I wouldn't mind at all if they just left them out... in fact, I'd be happier. I get creeped out enough by Minecraft the way it is.
Oh god.
Don't make it so I have to sit over a bucket while playing.
You should try looking at these pictures with the site's music playing while playing the game.
They'll make Minecraft sounds look tame.
(If you are easily disturbed by portrayed death and eerie images, don't even bother clicking it.)
They increased the Jukeboxes range in TU9 so hopefully that means that if this stuff ever gets added my idea, they would have the sounds be heard from a range.
Minecraft feels like the inside of a vacuum. Birds chirping would be cool, same would the ones in PC. Like the random screech that some people might hate because too many people would crap their pants about it on day one to three.
Well, we have new music now.
It isn't really the ambience we wanted, but it's kind of right. =\
The music has been a long time coming though. C418 said he was making that new music some time last year. I'm actually amazed it was added to the Xbox 360 Edition at all, let alone before the PC version.
Still, since C418 is making stuff for Minecraft again, maybe he can get around to making these noises we want.

I never knew it's been that long since we knew of it.
Still, there is hope for it....

From what Mojang has been saying C418 is working on a lot of new sounds and music.
Apparently he is making dynamic battle music, obviously he just made the new dimension music for the End and Nether. He is apparently working on refining more of the noises for items and blocks in-game.
So there is definitely hope that my idea may become a vanilla feature in the future.
I thought of anoter one, how about a quiet wind blowing when you're above a certain height (such as Y=100+)?
It would make the tops of extreme hills seem almost emptier than they are...and it gives you a sense of...being up...high....

Maybe have wind for taiga/snow biomes, because that's the only thing that could possibly fit for it. I've been in a forest in the winter and when you're away from civilization, there are no noises. You can even hear the snow hit the ground.

Now see, I'm the exact opposite.
I really want those 13(?) sounds added in....

I only want nature noises.

But first things first: The violent mooing must be stopped....
