When i was playing minecraft on easy mode i went in a cave
i turned the corner to see 4 creepers coming after me
and then there was another creeper behind me
Long story short i died
So why not lower the rate in easy mode because its easy mode after all
I don't see why they should lower the spawn rates. Simply pay more attension.
Keep that in mind when you run into 4 drunk guys who beat you up turning the corner of a street in real life.
Oh.. But that would've been avoided if you paid attention.. cause.. you should've known that 4 drunk guys were around the corner were going to be around the corner right?
But people aren't 'future readers' they can't know what's ahead of them unless they can actually see it.I'd be okay with a lower spawn rate for easy.
Far as the damage differences... I honestly can't tell the difference I've been killed by creepers 2-3 blocks away on all difficulties.

You need to tame cats since they scare the creepers away
People still die in minecraft? I'll never understand why people wanna make minecraft easier and what not.
I could easily point out things you should have done but, we all have our opinions and it would turn out into an
all out flame war. To wrap this up, like someone stated before, you got unlucky. It happens. anyways its best to leave the spawn rate alone.

i always check the area for creepers then proceed with what i was doing. i walked out of my house, looked around-no creepers turn my back to mine- three creepers out of nowhere! im almost over-vigilant for creepers because of the super high spawn rate.
