We already have things that can wear and display armor -- namely skeletons and zombies -- in the game. So maybe some of the code for that could be the basis of an armor stand. It would be actually (under the hood) a sort of a mob that could "wear" armor that was dropped on it, and give it all back when clicked. (it would have to be all or none, I think; I can't see an easy way to have it give back only some of the armor)
I really want this one. I always have a "stuff to take adventuring" chest near the front door of my house, and this would look great right next to it -- sort of a "gearing up room" kind of thing.

Actually I can see how it could be done. This is something I have suggested before along with adding display cases. Basically clicking on the stand would bring up an interface with the armor slots. That would be the easiest way to do it, even if it is a bit more coding to it. The same could be done with a weapon rack, which is something else I had in mind. Where you could place up to 3 weapons/tools to display on the rack.
Anyway I like the idea, even if the OP didn't really elaborate on it much.
could be made with 2 planks with a stick to either side (making 2 sticks) and a wooden pressure plate at the bottom. One way to go about it.
You could always just put your armor in item frames
That doesn't have quite the same feel, though. And it takes up more space (the area around my front door has lots of windows, so I don't really have enough wall space to hang four item frames on) I think this idea is definitely worthwhile.
Well, you could use item frames and the armour.. Probably the closest you could have to one I think.
Not quite the same, as you could only put 1 piece of armor on it at a time. If you were to draw out with them it would take up a bit of space on the wall. I would rather see something like this or a display case that can be placed not on a wall.
You are right though that you can display thing in them, but only on the wall. You would think since they have that that they could make something like this. And as someone else mentioned the mobs wear them as well, why not something stationary.:D
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
