So, a while ago I made a post in some random thread about how nifty it would be to have some sort of offshoot for the console. Since the console needs a different flavor from the PC version. It's eventually planned for the PC version anyhow. I would just like to see more Survival on the console, due to the smaller map size right now.
I would suggest the same basic minecraft to base a zombie mod off of.
Takes place on Superflat world (Height 63 maybe, for resources)
Can build and mine
Trading with villagers would have to be implemented
Default minecart system between villager towns
Each night, one NPC village becomes sieged
Nothing happens to village, unless a player is within the standard mob despawn radius.
On-screen notification of when it's dusk/night, and someone is near the outskirts of an activated zombie siege. (Something like "THE NEARBY VILLAGE IS UNDER ATTACK")
When you are near the next to-be sieged village, a message will be shown, saying something like "The nearby town is emitting a forboding aura, the denizens of the underworld are poised to strike."
If you are outside the siege activation radius, nothing happens to the town. (You can opt-in to a siege, by having one or more players near it at dusk.)
"Village" would be defined as "enclosed space with door with villager within x blocks"
The next zombie siege is known the morning before
You have the entire daylight to mine and build fortifications
Beds still work (Skips night, and the siege. Nothing is lost, nothing is gained. Siege location moves.)
Each town needs a "church" or "clocktower" type of building. You must enter it to set your spawn point to that location. (Maybe have a spawner block of your player color with "Steve" or your skin inside)
Each village has several zombie spawners per night. Spawners have activation radius of (distance to town * 2)
Spawners cannot be destroyed, unless by sunlight.
Spawners teleport around the town, so they cannot be "caged"
Zombies, Creepers, Skelletons, Pigmen, Blazes, and Ghasts spawn increasingly more each sucessive night.
Increased drop rates from monsters. (With villager trading, this could be your main source of income.)
No loss from all villages being destroyed. But the spawners now spawn every night around the players.
You cannot opt out of the siege around the players after all villagers are dead.
"Failure Siege" repeats every night, endlessly. (Beds still work though.)
