Wouldnt it be cool if villagers have a small chance (5%) of being a soldier in the village. which means if a player drops armor on the ground and a villager walks over it, that villager has a small chance(5%)to pick it up and wear it. It would be like the same mechanic of Zombies picking up armor or any block type (in the pc version). After them wearing the armor and any tool they pick up, they would help protect the village along side the iron golems. Later update: Villager trading, this villager with the armor could then be hired to follow the player who bought his loyalty and help the player fight mobs, defend chests or beds, etc.(maximum amount 2). the option for hiring a villager would only appear after the villager is wearing armor and has completed 1 trade. That would be cool IMO tell me what you think.
Wearing armour: Some-what interesting. Not siding for or against, however.
Hiring them: No. We have golems for protecting them, not accompanying them.
But iron golems dont protect players directly and dont follow you, only villagers, and snow golems dont do anything. so the fact that, in a single player mode we could have allies to help you do things would be cool, and dogs have low health and are a burden because you have to keep feeding them and i dont think anyone brings their dogs caving because they fall in lava and take to much fall damage, it would also be cool because in multiplayer they can attack players snooping through your things or if players break your bed etc.
It's sad these kind of unique suggestions never see the day of light. Back then when we had a suggestion for a "Reset Nether" option everyone was all over it. But now stuff like this it doesn't seem like it will ever happen, possibly when 4J start going there own way.
