I think it would be a cool idea if there was in item/block that caused mobs to be drawn to it, much like the agro mobs have on the player, but with a greater distance. For example using this item a person could put it in the center of their base and cause mobs to surround the base trying to get in, like a zombie horde, but not limited to zombies.
I built strong defenses and bases, but even on hard mode that don’t really try to attack my base. It could also be used for mob traps and such.
So have a creeper walk over and blow it up, leaving a crater?

It seems a little OP in my opinion. Even if they're not attacking over, they're not supposed to not attack you.
