We need more music. I found the music relaxing at first... Then annoying... Change it up some. Like every biome has a different song. Or underground. And getting chased by monsters should have an upbeat song to it! Just please.... In most games that have one song it's catchy... But minecrafts... Let's face it... Not much... Come on mojang hook us up!
Not sure about having music change with biome, as I play on maps where biomes are pretty close together and that would get annoying if the track changed every so often, especially if you happen to build a base on a border of several biomes. Which means music constantly changing track back in forth depending on what side of the base you are in.
What I wouldn't mind is day/night songs. Songs during the day should be that relaxing tune they have, while at night it should be an eerie something or other.
Also have maybe a graded song choice based on how low you are in the ground. Like on the surface outside in the daylight/nightlight it will be the day/night songs, but in the dark caves at least a few blocks from where natural sunlight would hit would be a cave song of some sort.
Then maybe at 32 and below to bedrock have a looming eerie, but cave song.
That would be one thing I wouldn't mind seeing, or in this case hearing. As far as song choice goes I really don't have a clue, as mysterious should be near bedrock while an exploration cave ambience like song should be while in caves. That is about as close to a description as I can get.
Nice idea, although does need a bit of work or rather more detail in execution rather than what it does. under the hood I would say... I just don't really like the biome shift one. Chasing music or battle music might be nice, if you hit a hostile mob or a hostile mob attacks you, and would fade away soon as that danger or mob dies assuming you are not being attacked by a few others...lol

Thank you for more elaborately explaining this topic because i had no idea if this was a good or bad idea, but now i understand it is a quite good idea, and you spelled ambiance wrong.

Actually that is how the spell checker spells ambiance, can't help that ambience is a word as well...><
Just looked it up. Both spellings are correct... I prefer the e... but can be spelled either way.
Anyway glad I could help people understand what this one was about. Had to reread that first post few times before I finished writing that...lol

Omg.... yes... please.. for the love of god yes.....
I can't stand the song anymore.. cause it's just the same thing over and over and over.....
I also think they need to change the options for what sounds are what. Like there needs to be more volume controls. It shouldn't be one for music, and one for everything else.
We should have the option to turn off mob sounds. Like the animals especially. Because of the music, and because of the Animals and mobs... I often play my Minecraft games with literally no sound cause the sounds all get on my nerves!!

glad you liked my addition to the idea. Had to put a lot of thought into it, and point out a few things that might, at least for me, get rather too much. As long as it is executed well any new music or way about it would be welcome.:D
