1. For the PC I think that there are already wild watermelons so eventually we will get those, correct me if I'm wrong.
2. I support your idea on making pumpkins more useful, pumpkin pie is a good example of this.
3. I like this, being able to eat seeds would be very interesting.
This is just an idea of mine: How about grape (Or Berry) bushes? You could then pick the grapes and plant some for yourself. Just something I thought would be new and nice to have. It would also make the Forest Biome seem... more alive and realistic. Nevertheless you have my support.
1- I hope they are wild in the PC version so we might get them wild too.
2- Thanks, i always hated pumpkins and just never used them and finally it hit me of having pumpkin pie. Now they can be used at least.
3- Thanks, i was hoping that idea would get some good feedback. It will be cool for the seeds to not only be planted but eaten.
Also that grape/berry thing i really good and maybe with the berries you can make some type of smoothie/juice which can regen. health and fill some hunger too? Do you mind if i put your idea of the berry thing and my juice/smoothie in there, i'll of course give credit.

You are welcome for all of the positive feedback, ideas are ideas, and I am a man of many ideas. Also feel free to add my idea! Thank you!
Oh ya, i know pumpkin pie exists but not in the Xbox version, so the pumpkins are useless for us. I totally agree with the looking for melon seeds way underground though. Its pointless to have them if they won't grow wild as mineshafts can be hard to find, all the endless cave systems and the small chance of you finding a chest in that maze of darkness just to find another food resource.
Not exactly wild melons... on the pc that is... I believe some villages have them... Then again I haven't played pc long enough to find any. That and many of the youtubers I have watched I have not seen such a thing.
I wouldn't mind the melons growing in the wild randomly...
I disagree that pumpkins are useless as they are good lighting, when you don't feel like going to the nether for glowstone. However I wouldn't mind seeing more uses like the pumpkin pie you mentioned that is in the pc. Although unsure if in vanilla or not.. don't remember really, but if is then I guess I watch too many older let's players...
Unsure what to make of the other ideas...hmm...

Ya the melons will be random like pumpkins as you don't always see them. I have never seen melons in villages either, i only get them by finding the dang seeds way underground in a mineshaft or by going in creative.
To me pumpkins are useless because i hate the carved in faces and to me the face and lighting them up is for halloween only and not an all time thing. Again its just me but i prefer torches for lighting places up and when i can glowstone. Now the pumpkin pie could be an all time thing if you felt like it that is.

Would be nice to see those type of crops in them, if not other ones...the villages I mean...
Well I usually hide the pumpkin face from view when it can be done. Since trap doors look just as good on pumpkins as glowstone. But that is me...lol

Well I mean you can wear a pumpkin as a helmet (though it does nothing of the use for doing it except making you 40% blind), but other than that yeah you can't eat it.. so what's the point?

And.. You'd think with all the trouble you need to go through to find Mellon Seeds.. they'd heal you a lot more than they do. You can use up to like.. 9 melon pieces to heal you if you are starting to be hungry enough to start losing health.
So, you end up taking like 3-4 stacks of 64 melon pieces taking up three blocks of inventory space, or you can take 15 steaks from cows that only takes up one block of inventory space and more than likely not run out of food if you are mining (can't say the same for Melons though.)
Anyone got any feedback on this or support it as well?
Definitely have my support. You'd have even more support though if it meant that melons can heal you more than they currently do.
Cause they don't heal you much at all when you eat it. I think that's stupid.
Junokaii- Exactly my point with the pumpkins, sure you can wear them but you are practically blind when doing so and sure you can use them as lights but i hate the faces on them, its too halloweenish and i don't want jack-o-lanterns all over the place when it won't go with the building style. I'm sure others hate the faces on them and don't like them as a light source except for making a slime farm.
I'd like to know exactly how watermelons would grow in the wild, if the stem is on farmed soil it is just going to look really weird, maybe wild watermelons are different from watermelons, they are just as rare as pumpkins (which are a lot rarer than diamonds if you do the math) and they are more fulfilling, different texture, maybe the vine can grow out to different grass blocks and make even more watermelons.

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
I like the idea of wild watermelons. They could grow just like pumpkins -- no worries about stems, you just find the melon there.
When I play the PC version, I carry bread and steak for food. The raw materials are easy to get -- just need a wheat farm and a small ranch, plus of course killing any wild cows you find -- and preparation is quick, just the one mat each. Yes, there are more foods than the XBox version has (most notably pumpkin pie) but I've never bothered beyond trying them once; the steak and bread combo is enough. My pumpkins go for jack-o-lanterns, because yeah, they look dumb, but they're excellent trail markers!

actually no. wild melons wouldn't have a stem... Just like the pumpkins don't have them in the wild. I do agree they should be as common as pumpkins in the generation.:D
Wild and possibly in villages. (Village ones will have the stem, just a crop form.)
