It would be pretty cool if mobs were different colors, like not all wolves are white, some are grey or black, I know that there's a large diversity of horses, like there's different colors and stuff, but the mobs in the game are all the same color, they could try making pigs tan, or making them look like boars, make wolves black or another color, even hostile mobs, creeper could be red, that would be kinda awesome, they should add variations to mods, instead of the same color mob every time.
I agree.I think it is really boring seeing the same colours.By the way there is mods for this if your interested.
I'm sure there's mods for this, just not for the illegal-to-mod Xbox 360 edition.
Anyway, I thought of this a while back, though mainly for wolves. It could've been like ocelots where they change skins after you tame them, but this idea works nicely too. If they ever added this, it would be at the same time as horses, as horses themselves already have these variations. In addition, other stats could be random, such as health and damage.
Spider eggs sort of explode into many tiny seemingly harmless spiders that EAT YOUR DROPPED ITEMS AND GROW BIGGER!!!
Pale zombies are faster, red zombies take no damage from fire but still catch fire and can also spread fire, big zombies are tanks that take half knock back.
Creepers of different colors have less blast effect and radius. Weak creepers have up to 2 block blast radius and only effect 1 block in its path . red endermen are hostile at all times, blue endermen teleport instead of walking. White endermen only walk but can go through solid objects and hover.
Bigger pigs, cows, and stuff give more drops but they're also quite aggressive if you attack them or their herd.
Skeletons have different weapons and armor for different classes.
Magma cubes and slimes eat dropped items to grow.
What did I miss?

you missed blazes, ghasts, silverfish, zombie pigman
I dont like that idea at all, I just prefer that there are color variations but not effect variations. Creepers should remain green though.
Oh yes a color only variation... Almost genius. "holy jebus its a black creeper" "what's it do?" " its just a black creeper it has no specialty" "......... racists"
Red zombie pigmen are alphas and will attack those that get too close
Blazes and ghasts I haven't seen enough of to come up with any upgrade information
Big silver fish burrow through blocks and eat stone and such to grow... When they get big enough to eat you they will be long like a giant snake and they might just eat you
I saw a Modded gamplay of minecraft that had what was called "mutant" variants of the mobs.. the Zombie looked like the incredible Zombie hulk. the endermen had four arms and were a little more topheavy,
Put a sword up for Mutant variation mobs

These zombie looking villagers are called "Zombie Villagers" They are formed when a zombie kills a villager.
To peterbread, good idea. Support.

Sounds like a Graboid to me
What can I say.. all of the tremors movies are awesome
I still say add in mutant variants of the current mobs... I mean it would be awesome to see our iron golems pummel a hulking zombie ( or vice versa)
