I have to ask, is there any particular reason that an entire sign you place in the x360 version become censored just because of one word could be considered offensive? Here's an example: While exploring I found a temple and I thought it would make a good place to serve as the entrance for a mineshaft. So I took a sign I had prepared ahead of time and marked the temple for future reference.
And the whole thing came out censored because of the word mineshaft. Are you kidding me!? Why is the whole sign censored because of the one word that is only vaguely offensive? Isn't that a bit draconian? Why not censor the one word? Or better yet realize that online interactions are not rated by the ESRB and remove the silly censorship?

I dunno wether to laugh at how silly the cencoring is or rage at how downright stupid it is. I would be understandable if you had typed in Glory hole, the Pit, or anything else off the top of my head that could be considered offencive based on the darkside of the IRL land
But Mineshaft got cencord? and thus your whole sign was blank? What in the Bloodsoaked four-wheel-drive. Since when did the term shaft have to be cencored? A shaft is a hallow, usually tubular object... a Mineshaft is just that on a massive scale.. and usually full of goodies to dig out
It's because of Microsoft's censors. They have to censor anything remotely offensive in any form to keep it appropriate for the 10-17 year-olds who play, as it is rated that it will contain content appropriate for anyone 10 and up. The fact that mineshaft is censored is a result of the censor searching for strings of characters that match to the banned words, as people could easily put two words together to prevent it from being censored if it just censored by per word.
But either way, it's Microsoft who runs everything. They decide what's censored. They force everything to be censored. If you want change, you'll have to take it up with them. And they won't change. So sorry, it won't happen.
Microsoft needs to get out of la-la land and realize that if ten year olds can get pregnant, they can handle bad words.

But seriously, by the time most kids are 10-years old they already have a working understanding of how the human body works ( screw you Discovery Channel) So Microsoft can promptly remove their heads from their bungholes and get with the program

Woah woah woah.... ENDERMAN is a cencored word.. in a game where the thing is a basic monster. What is Microsoft Smoking?!

name a few other games that can modify the world with text do a degree in a multiplayer experience. Chat messaging doesn't count...Not many out there actually do that... from my knowledge. Then again i play certain genre of games that doesn't really need or have those kind of things....

Unfortunately. According to the other posters (and I'll take their word on it) it's Macrohard's fault and not Mojang's and if so then how Macrohard has handled Minecraft is the final straw for me. I'll probably get it if/when PS4 gets it.
Also, why is everyone in this thread using colored text?

ESRB has no control over the contents of videogames, they're only responcible for rating the contents and online interactions are not rated by ESRB. It's all Macrohard.
