Between me watching Minecraft Videos on youtube, playing the trial for a couple months and playing hardcore a bit myself. I feel that the Daylight hours are "too safe". I mean, safe the occasional creeper explosoin and the accidental strike on a wolf, thus aggroing the entire pack that is nearby. the most danger one would have during the daylight is "falling out of a tree/ off a cliff".
I have a couple ideas for Mobs that can be hostil during the day and could bery well be 24/7 mobs.
Berserkers & Barbarians- In a world that Minecraft appears to be you'd think there would be wildmen running around hunting the same beasties you hunt and knocking down the same trees, or carving out the same stone you are. well the Barbarians would be hostil if you come too close. Similar to the Wolves and Zombie Pigmen, they will also attack if you attack one of them as well. the Berserkers are another story however, They will attack you on sight.. and usually in groups of three or more. Dispatching a Barbarian or a berserker would have a chance to drop various items such as stone tools, Raw and cooked meats, leather, and possibly whatever resource they were nearby upon their death.
Both the barbarians and the berserkers would be garbed up in animal pelts ( most likly wolves at this point.) and would a hostile humanoid mob ( I dont consider the zombies, skeletons, or the zombie pigmen to be humanoid since they are all technically undead) Like the villagers, you could probally find a whole "tribe" of berserkers and/or barbarians. with a wall around their small structures made of wooden poles ( basically just the trees stacked together without be made into planks) and gravel or cobblestone.
Everyone please feel free to post your ideas. but this is just my idea for a hostil Daylight mob
Typos aside, the time is meant to be a reprieve from the onslaught you face at night.
While I do like the idea of the creatures, I would rather not be bashed constantly by mobs.
Though this would be interesting when combined in this topic.
And I do agree, the daylight is supposed to be a repreive from the nightly onslaught. That still isn't an excuse for the only dangers during the day being creepers, angry wolves, and overkill from fall damage.
Besides, I figure if the berserkers and barbarians were implemented they wouldn't be as frequent during the day as zombies are at night. Like yeah, they will spawn randomly, perhaps more spawn the closer you are to the Tribe
This would be fun for about ten minutes and then I'll be trying to do something and end up throwing my xbox. Especially if what you're saying comes in packs. I get anxious too easily that'd make me pass out.
