So I have an idea, soldier golems, a golem like mob that can be great for guarding a house or fortress. Especially when you need someone to inhabit structures, more pointful than villagers. A better name could be guard golems.
Crafting
This is an example of how to craft a soldier. So here is an explanation of why crafted like this
1. Pumpkin; It is the standard head for any golem
2.Diamonds- The diamonds and the Lapis block form a T shape similar to that in crafting an iron golem.Diamonds are the closest shade to the Steve skins shirt there is in an ore.
3. Lapis Lazuli block-The closest shade of an ore to Steve's pants.
4. Bow-This is the Soldier Golem's Weapon, used to take out targets at range.
5. 32 Arrows- The ammo for a soldier golem, however you get a bonus 32 arrows to give the golem 1 stack of ammo.
This is another soldier golem. The same thing, but A different weapon, and food. To have a soldier golem you must use a diamond or iron sword, the golems use of the sword damages only at half of the rate that a players sword damage.
Characteristics of a Soldier Golem
1.Weapons damage at half the rate of a players
2. They may not use weapons to mine, or dig
3.Standard Health system of a player is used
4. by walking up to a golem, getting one block away, and pressing "Start" then going to Soldier Golem Skin under settings in the menu. the creator can change the golem's skin to that of any skin pack the creator has.
5. The soldier golem CANNOT ATTACK CREEPERS and creepers cannot attack it.
6. Soldier golems are less effective in the open, and more prone to death from any mob, a good idea is to build a fence around them or add some type of fortifications so monsters cannot directly attack.
7. They cannot enter the nether.
8. Once the soldier golems equipment is 100% damaged, it dies.
9. Soldier Golems can be made passive to monsters. Press "LT" as you would in a wolf
10. When the creator is in a bed the golem cannot attack.
Sword Yielding Soldier Golem vs. Arrow Yielding Soldier Golem
1. Sword Yielding Golems cannot attack monsters not within 16 blocks, Arrow Yielding Golems can attack from 24 blocks.
2. Sword Yielding blocks can regenerate up to 6 lives worth of health, Arrow Yielding Golems only 3, because Sword Yielding Golems involve food in crafting.

The title says no, but the descriptions says... maybe. I don't and do like it for many reasons, 1 its hard to code, and 2 you don't fight that much. There's already dogs for this so not much of a good idea, and they should last forever because i wouldn't like wasting all those valuable things, except pumpkin and Lapiz, when i can just use 10-30 bones to tame a whole army of dogs.

With the red font and saying "We already have dogs for this," I thought you were bloodyphoenix. I like this idea.
I come here and I'm the focal point of the topic...okay.
Of course, I'm not even going to start up anything with you two.
On-OP: I like the idea of having something like this, but how tall is the golem, player-sized, smaller?
The problem is see is that they're more expensive than Iron Golem, but seem weaker and non-renewable.
I probably wouldn't waste Lapis and Diamonds on one in survival.

Same, I won't waste precious resources on this thing.
