It's quite annoying that you can't do a lot of things in this game.. for no apparent reason.
-Torches on glass
-Beds on glass
-Torches on the back of stares
-You can't put two different slabs on top of eachother
-You can't connect Nether Fence and Normal Fence to eachother.
I can't think of too much else.. But it's super annoying to not be able to do so many things in this game "Just cause"
I have never had an issue with any of these...ever.
And stacked slabs would each have to have their own block ID, which would take up a lot of unnecessary space.

First am I the only one who noticed the "torch on glass" twice.Second how would you put a torch on glass.Third it will be ok. I understand that it might get frustrating, but thats apart of everyday life
Why would you want to put torches on glass??? Next you going to want to put torches on doors. However it would be nice if you could place rails under water so you can ride your minecart through waterfalls.
I wouldn't consider five minor things to be "so many" to begin with. You might as well complain about not being able to place blocks on thin air. Every game has something you won't like, get over it.
Glass is no solid block. That's the way it's coded, dude. No torches on glass therefore, no beds on glass, and, because you said it twice too, no torches on glass.
Can't figure out what you meant with "No torches on the back of stares".
There are 11 slabs, resulting in 121 blocks mixed together, plus 11 for the slabs with air. 132 blocks for this feature only? There wouldn't even be enough space in the Block IDs for that, you'd have to ise damage values.
I can't see a technical restriction of the fence thing, but I don't see why you'd like to have it.
Well then, I guess they would have to get rid of the game entirely because everything in it is "just 'cause" that's the way the developer has envisioned to be. Anyone who creates a game has a right to make that game any way they want.
"Ours is not to wonder why, ours is just to play and die."
"Ours is to wonder why, we shouldn't say the game is good and lie"
I think this is a issue for many people. Many people have tried to build glass domes and needed a light source, they were stupid enough not to try glowstone, u noobs can't handle the overload of obviousness since they have fully gained the ability to comprehend common Minecraft sense.
I have never had an issue with any of these...ever.

Not necessarily... Basically all you have to do is have a way to determine bottom and top 50% of a block space. The ID would be the block that is the slab. Although the way it is now, if I am correct; they are not saved that way. Each block space is saved as individual blocks and not half of this and that. Simple yes, but quite complex in a way to program in or rather reprogram the way slabs are saved in game. If not the rendering. No need for new ideas, just a way to do more than only a whole block space. Or something like that.
As with most of the stuff that the OP mentioned; I am not truly bothered by any of them. Although some of those would be nice to have if don't well enough to not create too many glitches or bugs in other areas of the program. And since the method I mentioned is tied to how blocks render and are saved as individual blocks then that would touch that part of the program which is essentially the whole game... I think...
The one thing I would love to be able to do is put torches on the back of stairs, and I could see that as a possibility over the mix n match slabs. Well a lot less complex to program in compared to that. The fence one would be nice, however they have to have a fence attribute added I am guessing. Of course that is how I thought it was done.. Maybe every thing was programed individually... After all the nether fence is in a way a retexture of regular fence.
I don't see the point in putting torches on glass... especially when you could just use other blocks below or spill lava over it in order to light it. Torches are not exactly the greatest look having all over the place, especially if you are a builder like me. I can't wait till the lamps are in the game, that will come quite useful very quickly...:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
PigMiner is right. Why do we have to deal with stupid stuff like this? You can put beds on glass just you have to put it on something else then replace that something with glass. It is still stupid we have to deal with crap like this. I would always have torches on glass blocks. It would make lighting a glass house a lot easier. Still, I dunno why you are complaining about the slab thing.

You don't have to put up with it... only if you want to play THIS game, created as this developer wants to create it. Different developer = different ideas = different game.

Developers want to know what the players of their game think about their game to make their game better.
Would you put a lightbulb on your window?
Would you have your bed on glass?
Would you put a lightbulb On STAIRS you step on?
Would you connect a chainlink fence with a wooden fence?
You cant do these thing because its not Logical

If I were creating a game where one of the most important things is being creative... I would make it so you can do as many things as possible.
Whether it'd be any of those "unnecessary things" or not. Anything you do in this game can be considered Unnecessary to some. But in a game like Minecraft.. I don't think you can ever have not enough options to build with.

There isn't lightbulbs in Minecraft.. And I'm sure you can even remotely agree that the lighting in this game is kind of weird that you need so many torches to light up even just a small area.
Bed on glass? Maybe I decided to make a house out of glass just for fun and wanted a bed in there?? I mean yeah I can do that thing where you just put the bed on say dirt of w/e block then replace those blocks with glass but still. And for whatever reason.. making a building out of glass and having that building in the day time somehow it's dark in that glass house. There now you know why torches. I know I can put glowstone blocks but maybe I wanted torches.
My fence suggestion was mostly for things like nether fence and normal fence beside eachother cause.. I wouldn't put iron bars beside eachother with wood either. But even if I did why not? Who cares?
Torches on the back of stairs? Why not? Cause it isn't "realistic"????? Give me a break this is Minecraft it's the most unrealistic game out there. It's fiction. If you wanted real life in a video game don't play video games then.
The very fact you can't do this in Minecraft... is actually illogical. I've seen lights on the back of stairs.. I haven't seen flightbulbs in windows.. yet.. But why does it matter? Minecraft isn't real life.

- Torches on glass would look weird.
- Beds on glass would also look weird.
- Not being able to stack different kinds of slabs on top of each other is nothing to complain about.
- Connecting fences of different kinds would be helpful, but using a single, uniform fence is better.
All of these issues are present in the PC version, by the way, and they have little to no effect on gameplay. Can't figure out what you meant with "No torches on the back of stares".

I was tired...
No one said that to me... I just saying how it appears to me...To me there's no reason at all why they can't be done that way.
