I've been coding for two years and three months, and i dont believe that the hunger bar is going to be restructured, its just that the new items are going to have a different hunger value than usual which will be easy to code, basically your making a new item with the same structure of its uncooked self but it just has a different texture, which is not hard to make, and the stats value of hunger bar will be changed. Not much work. The only thing that would be hard is making the frying pan, which you'll have to start from scratch, but i think 4j won't have a problem with this as long as we can be patient. 4J Tweeted that horses will be in a later update, and they'll have to start from scratch coding a horse also looking at Mojangs coding of the PC horse. Also i really haven't heard the "best" Minecrafters
thinking these "simple" features are okay, such as RADIOACTIVE (cant remember his full forums name) who posted a thread called "There shall be war!" which is actually a hot topic and it speaks of new weapons that should be added. Many people commented that it was a good idea so why isn't this a good idea? If you constantly read the posts that don't disagree about this idea, you'll see that a frying pan brings a whole different opportunity for items like fish. I really dont see this as a "bad" idea but your opinion is your opinion. Go with it.

Why would a stove be required for a frying pan...? Have you ever seen a medieval town or heck even a dark age town. All you need is something hot, usually fire. The furnace would be fine since that would work similar to how a stove works. Just in a rustic way similar to how the brick oven works...
So I do not understand why a stove would be required, since we have fire or well something hot enough to heat up the pan. so confused by that statement....><
