Hello everyone! I just wanted to say its nice to be back on Minecraft. Been busy with a lot of real life things but its good to be home 8P. I've had a lot of time to think about things I would like to see added to the game and I just wanted to throw this one at the community. Hopefully we will see desert temples in the game and with them I would really like to see an exclusive mob act as a guardian around the temples. I personally think a sand golem would be a nice touch.
Sand Golems would spawn similarly to witches in the pc version being that they spawn within an area say 8x8 and stay within an area around the temple about 40 square blocks unless provoked to leave the area. There could only be a max of 2 within the 40sq area and upon dying would drop 4-8 blocks of sand and maybe a rare drop of 1 redstone or 1 glowstone. This would address the unrenewable aspect of sand on seeds with only a small sand biome but manage to spawn a temple and also would help with people not having to find a new sand generator every patch.
Now I know some of you are probably thinking "but . . . . there is a desert. . . full of . . . SAND" and yes I know this addition is in no way game changing but personally I have been on seeds where there is not a lot of sand and ones that are full of it but either way lets face it . . . mining sand to make bulk amounts glass or TNT or whatever can be a massive pain in the butt. This way it makes it renewable and farmable which is IMO a big part of Minecraft.
Just my 2cents on a little addition that could add a little value to the life of a minecrafter
I like the concept. Since there is sooo much sand, how about the ability to make your own that won't attack but you build it and activate it by using something on it? I dunno. How about a rock golem? Make the rock golem way bigger than the other golems. The rock golem would be a boss similar to the wither. Spawn deep in caves. Should I make my own thread for that?

I think you should, and i also think the rock golem should guard diamonds.
