I know that some minecraft computer players have shader mods installed and not all computer players can run shaders. However, what stops the Xbox from having shaders? I have seen many minecraft videos with shaders running it looks simply fantastic. Shaders would make the Xbox 360 version of minecraft look fantastic. I know that may take awhile to program into the game and increase the time it takes for the game to load but to me, it would be worth it and then some.
I would agree with the lag part if shaders had to be on on player's servers. It would have to be client-side and maybe not the best shader out there. I know my computer can't take any shader but I believe the Xbox 360 can take a moderate shader and the Xbox One can take probably the max shader(like from Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders Ultra). The Xbox 360 version probably would have a little lag with a moderate shader but I have played games with static shade or moving because of the wind. I don't think we need the leave and grass moving in the game. I just want the shader part. There would be settings for shaders like Shaders ON/OFF toggles, shader animations(like grass, leaves, and wheat moving) ON/OFF toggling, and a setting(possibly) for Shader Quality: Ultra Low/Low/Medium/Ultra. I could imagine the shaders lagging if you had a large explosion in the game. I would think the Xbox 360/One could take shaders.

It cant'
If I blow up 5 TNT it already lags.
When I start up my world it lags.
If I start up my world with the LOWEST shader, it would freeze and probably break my XBox360.

Stay fluffy~
It should be powerful enough especially with how much they seem to optimise things these days.
