ive built a few air ships .and boats and the such. and they look gorgeous... just sitting there doing nothing though. imagine if they could move. ive seen some mods that made this possible, but thats out of the question for the xbox 360 edition
so. heres my idea. have a block made of slimeballs. these would be used to glue other blocks together. this could also be done with some sort of glue. possibly a potion of sorts. the block would glow or have some sort of potion animation to indicate which blocks are being glued together.
now all the blocks a are glued together, what now.. well how about some props. these would push directionally similar to pistons so you'd need controls and several motors to fully maneuver along all axis.
the possibilities are endless. from airships. boats. land vehicles. and even floating islands that move around your map. there would also need to be some way to control the speed. so possibly eah motor has a limited output. and when combined they can push much faster.
Fun Fact: I can't find the thread anymore, but since the actual redstone block came out, several tried to utilize it in building a self-sustaining vehicle. Completely independent, free from a "rail" or "track" of some sort. Many players actually came surprisingly close, building ships that required only a small amount of player interference.
Tying back into this topic, this would solve that problem completely. With the ability to attach a redstone block to other blocks, I do believe you could build a fully-automated vehicle. Even at MCXBLA's current stage, some sort of glue-like entity would make a lot of things easier.
