So, I had this idea. What about chatting? Like, in PC? No mikes.
Add a new button to start menu, "Chat". It will open up in a classic text type thingy. Then just type your message and press enter.
This would be cool for people who don't have mikes.
Also, there would be Chat Settings, to turn off text, and other settings.

I don't play Xbox, nor do I have one, but I do think that this could be obstructive, for some users.
I also think that it would take a long time to use an Xbox controller to type fast paced messages, with a keyboard, it is easy - and, in PC, we lack the guarantee of microphones.
It depends on the availability for each media;
PC - Already has keyboard,
Xbox - Already has Mic, no need for fast paced chat, like the PC Minecraft chats can get.

well having that would be fine... after all you can use chat pads, i believe that is what you call them, to do the typing. Since it would be optional, the option to see text float on screen can be defined by each individual. Don't know if they would be able to avoid the xbox box that pops up, but would be nice if option when turned on, and have a chat pad connected would not pop said box to pop and be able to type away on pad. If it is not connected then the ol box will come up so you can do that slowly.
As long as things are optional I don't see why not, but it more or less how it could be implemented that takes the cake and run... So it could be done, just unsure if likely since we have voice chat. I personally am 50-50 on this.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

I like that idea considering my mic never works and I have a USB keyboard hooked up to my Xbox.This would be very convenient instead of constantly sending messages.

sounds familiar... except more like one of my friends is like that, but continues to attempt using the mic... I can hear that person but they can not hear me half the time... sometimes it is just me having a quiet voice.. I don't like talking loudly... when I do people seem to think I am yelling...O_o
This would still be a good feature, if done in a way not to be too space consuming....

^^ you are quite similar as I am, I have quiet voice, and also, I broke my mic. I got it to work with tape
I think that this would be a brilliant idea. Also you can buy small keyboards that connect to the Xbox controller. I use this, it is very easy to use and doesn't disturb your gameplay. It's easy to forget it's on there sometimes as it is very light.
That's actually what I was refering to... the Chat Pad...lol
Still unsure if that is what it is called though... pretty sure it is but still uncertain.:D
