hello. how many of you build a city or something like that then when night comes you want to light it up brightly but you don't want to many lights around??? I think there should ether be a way to light up the ground from under it (so it is as if the dirt block itself glows) or make something that we can use to light up a large area because even glowstone and lava although you can see it far away a single block dosn't light a big area because the light dosn't spread very far from the block. Maybe make like a light projector that can from redstone,glowstone,2 stone,1glass and it will project the light (spreading it farther than normal) when you power it.
they should bring the light block from the PC to Minecraft.
On the PC they have a block that is invisible and you can walk through it but it produces light.
Come on Mojang Update Minecraft for the 360 more lol

There is no block like that in vanilla PC Minecraft. This is a list of all blocks on the PC version, even new ones that are only available through snapshots. There is no invisible light emitting block. The only invisible block is air and that doesn't emit any light.

thing is what if you want to like up an area that is say 50x50(just useing that as an exaple space) but you don't want that partaly lit areas (11ish and lower nether portal light). you are goona need to make the ground out of a light block (can't do for some projects) or place a litght block every few blocks (and nobody wants that). so why not just make something that will spread the bright light (15-13) farther out and light up bigger area's
I have to put torches every 5 blocks through my castle just so creepers don't blow everything up.
And they still do.
I'm not sure how there's still hostile mobs spawning in my castle but its very annoying as its meant to be a safe haven.

Perhaps a much brighter light that would light up a really large area is what's called for. Like a searchlight or floodlight. Hmm, then I could build a working lighthouse.
I feel that such a light should be expensive, but I'd like to have one.

ya it probably might be "expensive" but if it light up a large area like what I need or you want then it would be more than worth it
Sometimes I stream here
I speedrun Super Mario 64

Light-emitting items:
-End Portal Frame (1)
-Brown Mushroom (1)
-Dragon Egg (1)
-Believe it or not, Brewing Stand (1)
-The Moon (4)
-Restone Torch (7)
-Redstone Repeater (9)
-Active Redstone Ore (9)
-Nether Portal blocks (11)
-Lit Furnace (13)
-Torch (14)
-Lava (15)
-Glowstone (15)
-Fire (15)
-Jack O' Lantern (15)
-End Portal block (15)
-And the Sun (15)
Just get creative with those and use slab floors for dark areas.
(Although portals, ore, and furnaces might be too creative.)
Stay fluffy~

And I delivered~
Last I checked, brown ones do. Go check for me, yes?
I was merely stating everything we have that emits light.
And I repeat.

Brown Mushrooms do. They have a light level of either 1 or 2.
Is this guy a genius or what? lol love it
Well there is a lot of things you could use to light up. Try sneak lighting in. Don't know how? Here's a tip, hide it behind something.
Epsolon
that dosn't work when you are try to light up a huge open area where you want people to be able to freely walk around around
Eh, I forgot what the 4th Light-1 object was (brewing stand), so I used the Wiki for that one. ._.

It could be a diamond lamp, or an enchanted lamp. That way it would be doable but not so easy that you'd light up the whole world before lunch.
