I was thinking Minecraft has many different versions xbox, pc, pocket, but what if they could all link, for example you could make a pc server and get on to in through xbox (when all of the games are equally versioned). But this idea might be a little bit harder with the pocket edition.
I don't think you're ever going to see a point when all the various platform editions are "equally versioned." The various hardware limitations present among the different platforms really means that making the various editions "equally versioned" would mean writing the game for the maximum capabilities of the least powerful platform. I'm sure that PC players would not want the game to be forever limited to the maximum capabilities of a pocket device and neither will Xbox 360 players or futur Xbox One players.
The term "system link" also has a very different meaning among Xbox players. It means the linking of two Xboxes locally offline. Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition is not being written to support System Link play.
