I hardly ever buy skinpacks. I just don't really see the point for me because I don't play online at all. I would like to see some DLC in other ways tho. They have been brought up a little before but in slightly different ways. Most of the time i read post that said they wanted them as title update that would "make mcxbl go in different direction". There are a lot of people that love minecraft as it is. Others (mostly the ones that loved the mods on pc) want a change of pace from time to time. It's been a year and all we really got in terms of DLC is skinpacks.
I'd love to see some content packs to change things up a bit.
Here re some of the packs i was thinking of:
Flora packs:
-food crop pack: corn, tomatoes, beans, peppers,grapevines, strawberries, ect. (maybe about 5-10 new plants just so farms look more colorful)
-flower/shrub/grasses pack: roses, tulips, lotus, razorgrass, thorn bushes, ect. (5-10 new non-edible plants to make gardens or different traps like you would with cacti) a dyeable white flower would be nice too.
-tree pack: lemons, oranges, harvestable apple trees, banana trees, coconut palms, cherry trees, nut trees,ect (tree farms are nice for collecting wood but having an orchard would be a nice touch)
Fauna packs:
I have a few ideas about extra mobs. Some new mobs but mostly I'd like to see new textures for the existing mobs. Seeing a horde of zombies and skeletons that all look different would be cool. Here is a few ideas
-hostile mob reskin pack: new skins for zombies, skelies, gasts, and pigmen. (just so it's not like fighting a crowd of cloned baddies. Some baddie types have a random chance of a choice of a few different skins for each)
-friendly mob reskin pack: same as above but with pigs, chickens and cows.
-dog reskin: a pack for tamed wolves. Since cats will be doing this, why not dogs?
-reptile pack: snakes, frogs, and lizards. just some extra mobs crawling round. don't really have to produce drops.
-fish pack: Doesn't really need to be new mobs, could just be a texture for water that's 2 or more source blocks deep. Also make it so you can't fish unless that texture is present while this DLC is active.
-bug pack: bees, ants, dragonflies, ect. (honey would be nice.)
-worker pack: replaces villagers with new ones that really do things, farmer farms, blacksmith makes things, ect. add a miner, lumberjack, and a delivery boy for supplies and transport.(I'd love to have a working town instead of just a populated one) Still would have to trade with them to get their supplies. (This might be just wishful thinking and a lil to much to ask for)
Block/item packs:
-hostile mob drop blocks: a fossil block for bone, sulfur crystals in the nether for gunpowder, spider egg sacs for spider eyes, nether rack fossils for gast and pigmen drops, blaze crystals for rods, ect. (so you can play on peaceful and still have everything while still working for them. the drawback for playing on peaceful would be these would be in limited amounts.)
-colored glass: dyeable glass blocks and panes.
-placeable saw, spikes, and spike pistons: saw would cut wood blocks, spikes (for traps, protection, grinders, and deco like halfslabs.), spike pistons that crush rock and ores. used for automation of farms and generators. A hopper with a filter option would be good too to keep the world drop count down.
I know. there's a lot here. Most if not all are just pipe dreams that will never happen. Thanks for reading anyway.
