I agree 100% I was going to suggest this too. Even though wooden gates don't burn they do catch on fire when around lava if I had some iron gates I could replace my wooden ones in my arena with them.
I have an idea for the iron fence gates.
When you stack two ontop of each other they become a cell door.
A framed bar door that fits seamlessly with iron bars and also acts as a iron door.

I have an idea. Another idea with the iron bars fence, you can jump over iron bars so how about a new fence type chain link fence. Acts like regular fence only when charged, it shocks players. And yes, a type of fence gate for it that acts more like a door than a fence gate.
Having more variety in gates would be a good thing. Just like multi colored fence according to what wood you use...
I like the idea also that the others have mentioned chain link and the jail door. Those are nice ones...
was about to say something about different fences based on the wood used..I doubt we'll see that for awhile tho..seems like they would need to add different stick types before they added birch and spruce fences..
I don't see why people would vote no for things like this :P. If you don't like it then you don't have to use it if it gets added. Anyway, I support this.

actually no. all you could do is add a specific amount of the colored wood/planks to the fences... Fences with like 1-2 wood planks to either side of the fence, and would give you more fences; just like the nether brick fences. So you technically don't have to add different colored sticks. it is getting the ratio of fence count produced to materials put in to equal the original recipe.
Fence gates can just be done with the colored wood planks placed in the middle for obvious reasons.
So there is a work around for that in mind at least.
And of course we prolly will not see it for a while, as we can say that about any suggestion if it is good enough or laid out well enough to be implemented...:D

Yeah that'd be good. Cause me and my friends have made a full fledged prison. Problem is we don't have doors, just bars.
I can get behind Nether Brick fences. However, I don't really see a point to iron bar gates. Iron bar doors, perhaps; but since iron bars can be jumped over... Unless someone would give me a use for them.
By the way, I see no-one has mentioned this yet, so why not make iron bar doors (and gates) only able to be opened via redstone?

Curse PremiumI was wondering if anyone else thinks it would be useful to have nether brick fence gates and even iron gates?
This way we don't have to have the wooden gates looking out of place in nether fences and iron bar fences.
