What are your views on this new Dimension?
I feel that if 4J asks permission from the Aether creator(s) (much like Mojang did with Mo creatures and the horse)
Maybe making a partnership and creating a great exclusive for the Xbox.
Please take the time to comment on the topic and any related ideas that could also be put in.
I support this idea. I think they should have given us this instead of the end.
You are DEAD WRONG, the aether might be a extremely good implement to the xbox as an exclusive BUT taking the end apart its like destroying a little part of minecraft. The aether is a suggestion (which I love) but the end is an essential part of minecraft

He said I think.
Everybody is in titled to their opinion.
If you asked me if I had to choose between one or the other I would go Sky dimension.
But if you included both as an option I'd happily say that.

I put my shirt on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but remember the huge amounts of lag that came from The End being implemented? I feel like that would get much worse if they added another dimension. I feel like another dimension is not possible, though it would be pretty cool.

The good people, they always die. And the bad people do too...But the weaker people, the people like me, WE have inherited the Earth. -Morgan Jones
I actually know this one was mentioned before... well in context. I really wouldn't mind having the aether, as it looks great and adds so much more interesting things to the game.
I also have to agree with the end. I would rather have this then the end, as the only thing useful about it is the single block you can get from it, and if you decide to make an ender farm there. Which is not much to get excited over. I know I wasn't when it came out. Although to have more aesthetic things in the game is something I always look forward to, and i look at the functional stuff as well since there are certain things that just don't make sense to be put in...
So in all i would say I like the aether as a whole functions, aesthetics, just flat out a whole other world. I don't care if the thing ends up a small map, but still would be nice to have.:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Just a thought.
But what if your actions leading up to the end determined what dimension you go to?
The End represents a corrupted aether.
The aether would represent the end possibly before apocalypse that turned it so grim.
Aether could have red dragon boss mob instead of ender dragon boss.
Since the aether is meant to represent heavenly place why not make it dependant on your reputation with villagers?
Do good trades and no punching.
But if they all die... From natural causes... Not your fault
Just an idea thrown out there.
If you can think of any alternatives please don't hesitate to post.

I think the best way to implement this would be for minecraft to be more online centric, instead of dimensions being stored locally they could be stored on the cloud, This would allow the system to only access what it needs. They could also use a system similar to halo 4 where parts of the level that are farther off could use less pixels which allows them to appear high quality but use as little of the systems cpu as possible. If they did these things then adding the Aether dimension would not affect the amount of lag in game.
So...
Let me clear this up.
When you use a portal it generates that world and nothing changes like wheat or something in the overworld.
But in multiplayer it does? For other players.

No every action that is made is stored online, the system constantly accesses this information, this is how online multiplayer works, if someone shoots a wall you still see the shot scar on the wall even if no one on your console performed that action.

No I meant in singleplayer.
It will only have to generate a single dimension at a time.
However in multiplayer it will have to keep the overworld generated for the other players.
Nothing to do with FPS at all.

I think this would be good, but it would take a while to code...

Sticks and stones may break my bones; but words are merely the smallest element of language capable of containing meaning and isolation and as such could never directly produce 4000N/cm^2 required to break bones.

so long as someone is in overworld then yes it will be generated, it will weigh less on the system and rely more on the online connection, it would be like connecting to a host's game where the host is the minecraft server

You could mod it.
But that is against xboxs rules.

well that's bs modding would really help out our console brothers kind of sucks though I feel like they should have modding to kind of sucks
