Our hardcore mode should be different than PC's. PC's hardcore mode is that if you die, than you have to delete your world. Our hardcore mode should be so that respawning is disabled and you have to load the last save on that world, or title screen. Deleting the world is far fetched, especially with the presence of survival mode bugs, so I would love this. I would use this instead of hard mode. Auto saving should be normal though.
I like this idea, would definitely play this style instead of hard mode. As for the concern over being able to revive other players, just have the difficulty ramp accordingly.
An interesting take on the idea... didn't see the point in hardcore mode for the pc anyhow. Having the reviving part makes sense. At least in multi-player you may have a chance, but there would have to be something to do the reviving part. Like an item of some sort. Maybe even a specially brewed potion. Of course like the person above me said the chance for it to work would be based on the difficulty.
Since this is hardcore mode we are talking about the chance would be low and possibly would take a lot of that new item for that to happen, unless you have really bad luck.

We have enough problems staying connected to hosts as is, so having that mode like the pc would be more of a frustration than actual enjoyment.>< you couldn't tell whether the host died or you got disconnected from the game easily. That is even with a message were to appear. Could be a different message granted, but still...hmm...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I'm sure the reason they haven't added hardcore mode yet is because in multiplayer if the host died they would have to delete it, leaving the remaining players unable to play anymore despite the fact that they hadn't died. I think if it is added, it will be with dedicated servers *cue server fanboy comments*
That would solve the issue. I don't like the idea of revival, but immediately deleting the world does seem a little harsh, but I don't think you should continue on that world. Making dead players into spectators seems like a good option. So if you wanna show off what you accomplished in hardcore, you can show everybody (without being able to change anything)

Nah, this would take out the main meaning of hardcore mode: NOT DIE
