So I'm curious why we can stack 2 slabs of the same color wood on top eachother but you cannot stack 2 different colors to be 1 block size. Maybe we can get this feature implemented?
Maybe. But I think that will make the minecraft.jar a bit more messy, since they will need all the data values of the different stacked slabs. Sandstone and brick slab, cobble slab with birch wood slab, etc...
It is because of how the game is programmed. All blocks have a block ID. The block ID of a wooden slab is 48. The block ID of a cobblestone slab is 49.
48=/=49
It would take quite a bit of work to get it to work the way you want. Especially on the Xbox 360 Edition with such limited memory. Evey combination of slabs would be a new block added to the game. That would fill it up fast.

Hmm I kinda see what your saying but when you put 2 of the same slabs down they don't become a block do they? aren't they being read as 2 block ID's in 1 spot?
Or is it like 2 slabs lets say block ID 48 transform into block ID (just throwing a number in here) 50 which we will call a wooden block.

Okay, I explain it simple and short. There is a thing called data values in Minecraft. You might think that there are 2 slabs placed in a 1 Block spot, but after placing 2 stone slabs the block turns into a completely different block with different data. So to make data for all the possible outcomes (stoneslab and jungle wood slab, and even the other way around) it will be hard to implement. Double slab in Minecraft is block 43, (PC version) and it has a different data value and even a different texture compared to the actual stone slab block. Sorry, I didn't achieve my goal of making it short
I'm for it if they can or want to do this but i know it would take a while to code something like this just because of all the different slab combinations and they would have to keep updating it if they keep adding slabs
Really I dont think they will add it, Mustache_Guy has already said why and if we get this, I am almost 100% sure that this will cause lag in incredible amounts.
I dont think that this is a bad idea but it will just not happen.
No support (sorry )
