Ok, so keeping the pattern
(p)( )(p)
( )(w)( )
(p)( )(p)
would just make a white block whereas
(p)( )(p)
( )(w)( )
(p)(d)(p)
where (d) is a colored dye would make a block of that dye's color?
also is my 4:1 ratio too small then?
i think you just did the trick i do when i want my topic to continue. just post a recap so it will go to the top lol

No, actually i trying to answer to a constructive reply that i didn't have a chance to answer while i was away. I was also trying to visualize the input i received to see if i understood the suggestion properly. That and i am actually wondering if others also feel to gravel to chalk ratio is too low. These are the kinds of things we should try to nail down before bringing this kind of suggestion to 4J.
I'll admit it is nice to get a topic back on the top to get fresh input on it. I do feel, though, it's wrong to bump a topic just to get it to the top of the list when clearly no one is discussing it. This is why i haven't posted anything to my Yumpie suggestion. There's no reason to post there as no one is discussing anything.
So what do you personally think about the idea of dyeing the blocks as they are made would it make the process more or less complex? Personally i think it'd make it harder to use in the PC, but for the 360 it actually is a good idea as we don't have to correctly place all the building blocks of an item.

Yeah, that was the inspiration for my original idea, then i imagined black marble counter tops using signs for wood paneling! After that I imagined a grand ballroom with a sweeping marble staircase and fancy pillars. Augh, just imagine the luxurious splendor we could create!
