The worlds that are being generated very rarely have EVERY type of biome, including villages, nether fortresses, and blaze spawners, and only much later on after hours of gameplay do players realize they will never get the FULL experience from their beautiful world they made and are forced to create a new world and carry on.
THE SOLUTION: Add an option that generates the world the way you want. For example: Before generating the world, there would be a list of biomes and a bar saying 0%-90%, allowing you to choose what biomes you want off and/or how much of each biome you want. This would solve a lot of problems and make the game better, because already ask any player and they will tell you they lost hours of work over worlds that were lacking.
Also, have the option to include at least 1 village, and 1 nether fortress, that way there the world will be sure to have one and no need for a new generated world.
In my opinion this would be one of the greatest updates yet, because my little siblings and I are tired of making new worlds and losing so much progress after finding out and saying to ourselves "The terrain is perfect but there's no nether fortress!" or "There's no mushroom biome but we did so much work" etc.
I for one found a map with 8 villages, perfect terrain to build and everything BUT I have yet to see 1 netherfortress, netherwart, blazes, after exploring the nether completely.
Oh and also, maybe the bonus chest can include 1 of each farm-able item in game. 1 Netherwart, 1 cactus, 1 pumpkin seed, 1 melon seed, ETC for people who spawn in worlds who have no cacti or netherwarts.
I agree to this, or just make it to where every seed has everything in it. . . . i spent atleast 5 hours building in the overworld and decided it was time to go to the nether, i have 3 nether fortresses along with 2 blaze spawners (But i was stupid enough to end up bracking the cages in a panic attack); but the thing it didn't have was nether wart so either way i wouldn't be able to brew. . . i screwed even if i kept the blaze spawners !!!!
But I'll pass. That takes the fun and enjoyment out of exploring a world, primaily because you know what you're going to have....
I agree, I do like the nether fotress and village ideas though, but they're adding the nether reset option in TU9. So that should solve the neter fortress option. And almost every world I've played on (after whatever update it was that villages came out) has had a village. There was maybe 1 that didn't.

I must also agree with you, being able to select everything you want, or being able to get all the farmable items, would take the fun out of exploration, they should instead rewrite the world gen code to take the world size into consideration as well, the biggest complaint I have about the world gen would have to be the villages generated on the edge of the map, they are usually cut off and look crappy, also the village generator should kind of level the terrain around them so that they don't look completely retarded when generated on hilly areas, also have the gravel paths generate dirt under them to keep the path at the correct height so villagers can get in and out of their houses without the player having to rebuild the paths, other than these few bits about the village paths, I really don't mind not getting a mushroom island biome, as long as they add the chance of having mooshrooms rarely spawn in plains biomes.
I like the idea of biome selection. I will make my world all forest, swamp, mountain, and the bulk will be desert. A small ocean with a mushroom island though.
This would be Pretty cool but in all i dont support this, because alot of people (Including Me) search for seeds for hours and hours, and this would take away the feel of finding a Good/Rare seed
