I have got an idea. They are same colour as obsidian but have all the properties of an iron door but can only be activated with Greenstone and can only be broken with an obsidian pickaxe. Greenstone is crafted from emeralds and is like redstone.
A door that cannot be blasted through and needs a special key. Perfect if faction servers were ever added. There would be no way into an obsidian house.
There is two tiny flaws to it though. If you die, you lose all of your items. So how would you get the key back? Perhaps they can make it so that the key doesn't disappear. Another flaw is, if somebody breaks the block beneath the door, the door would break, thus allowing greifers and unwanted "visitors" in your home.
I also like the door idea because of how it would look. And it would be a nice thing to add.

Well, if you are stupid enough to make a block under the door that can easily be mined, that is your own fault. On faction servers, unless people can blow up the place with a TNT cannon, there is no way to break the block under it. (This applies to next gen consoles because there was word of them adding servers) Personally, sometimes I would only use it for the look not even to keep out other players.
I like the idea of an obsidian door because it won't be easy to mine through. The key part seems a bit drastic though so I really think that a basic obsidian door will do just fine. This will work great for creative mode because it could really add to any kind of unique maps. I don't think it would be used much for survival unless it's already been placed on creative mode. In survival, if you misplace the door then it's going to be very time consuming to place it in the right spot. However, the same could be said for obsidian blocks, so you really just need to be careful with your placement.
Destroying the block beneath the door destroys the door, which is easy. But the door itself is not easy to mine.
I think the point is that it won't stop players completely but it will help make it more difficult for people to grief you and therefore less worthwhile. Of course, if people have enchanted diamond pickaxes and obsidian blocks that late in the game, it won't really matter that much at that point because it still won't add any more of a challenge for those who really want to get into your house.
After much thought on this idea, I realize this something fairly minor that won't make much of a different to anything other than the overall aesthetics. I mean it could work in adventure maps in creative mode possibly but it's the only reason I could see this being added.
We need obsidian doors. Iron is too easy to break into. Obsidian doors would need to be mined with a diamond pick axe, and opened with a key. Keys would be crafted from gold ingots, and when crafting an obsidian door, it would pop up a menu that says type in a four number ID for the door, and there up to 9999 possibilities. The dor would have the number you picked on it. The key would have the same number picked, and the door would have a password, and the key would have to have the same password written on it, to make sure only wanted people can get into it. You might be saying, but we can turn off their abilities to use doors! That makes them unable to use their own door, which sucks.
Just seems.... kinda irrelevant to me.
Unless you make a makeshift bank vault for fun... and have the walls be made of bedrock or something so it's impervious to attack so you virtually HAVE to enter the code... fine. But it's not like it's very hard to just mine the wall beside it... or mine the door even.I primarily like the idea of an obsidian door because I hate when a creeper blows up and I have to replace the door etc.
I use the door as pretty much the main icon to build around. If the door gets broken I get confused for a minute. But that would make it have to be something you'd be able to place on top of obsidian as well. that way it'd never get broken then.
You don't just go into threads trashing the idea without having reason to.

It's just more useless stuff that wont be useful on higher players it'll just be other iron door when people have Diamond pickaxes. If you really want my opinion on the other reasons just message me on
Xbox -The REAL Myth.
Frankly, I like the idea of the obsidian door simply because it would be blast resistant, and to that end, I'd include obsidian buttons and pressure plates and even levers that would be similarly blast resistant so that you could still use redstone technology to operate the door from inside a room where you might expect a high amount of explosives.... that and I sort of like the all black aesthetic look and feel of the obsidian.

Buttons are not too hard to replace, but it would look cool.

No, they aren't too hard to replace...but if I have a 'blast room' for some reason, it would be nice to have control components that I don't have to replace every single time it gets activated too... that would just be annoying....(useful in adventure maps too)
I support.

I suppose you can use obsidian for the block under the door. Makes sense.

A blast resistant, very hard to break door sounds good for making strong structures, perhaps for use also with player traps and challenges.
Support my suggestions. Make the game better!
That would be very cool
