So I would like to see game modes implemented. Could be RPG style game modes with job specific parameters set in start or joining game menu. Job specific meaning farmers can't mine or use crafting tables. Here's my job ideas.
Farmer: Can plant crops and breed animals only.
Blacksmith: Can craft with table and cook with furnace. Limited to making Tools and Redstone items
Chef: Limited to making food items
Miner: Can mine all the minerals.
Engineer: Can implement redstone technology into the community.
Architect: Builds houses and buildings. Also responsible for community parks/areas.
Chemist: Responsible for making potions.
Grand Wizard: Responsible for enchantments of all items.
Warrior: Responsible for defending city and protecting Miners in the nether while they gather resources.
Bank Manager: Handles all transactions and storage of personal items (like a safe deposit box)
These are just a few ideas I've had. This would work so much better if we had public servers on XBL that we could join. Who knows maybe one day this will be feasable. Would have to have the ability to have more players in a game then what I think is at now.
I have to say i was thinking something else when first glance. I don't think I would enjoy that as a game mode really, but possibly as an option the host can set. However since I don't play on those types it just is not the way I do thinks. Since I actually need several tasks to distract me enough it makes things a little narrow to what I would normally do.
I am one of those type that likes building and mining, so this wouldn't be a game mode I would even touch due to that fact. I don't like being restricted to just 1 task, as that would disinterest me more...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Sounds a lot like the RPG map I'm making. However, there's one major difference. Because there are only 3 people, each person will have more then just one job. That way, it's harder to get burnt out on one job.

Retired StaffNahh, 90% of what I do in Minecraft is just the engineer's job anyway.
But yes, this would become extremely boring. I never understood why some people enjoy RPG servers that implement a labor force.
