Aye, I was going to post the exact same thing. Presets that can be combined will circumvent the legal issues. Instead of skin packs they could sell preset packs (i'd be more inclined to buy those).
People would still complain because that isn't what people want.
People want to be able to make their skins from scratch and Microsoft/4J/Mojang whoever isn't going to allow it. Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition needs DLC to keep its update free and Skins is one of the easiest things to make DLC. They only cost 160msp and they offer many free skins in each pack if you don't want to pay for them.
Actually it could be done if the customizable aspects are preset, similar to the Xbox avatars
This would still be CLOSER to what we want than the skin packs, I would agree this should be added, make it where instead of change skin in the options menu it says customize skin then you select your face, head, headgear, body, and legs, or make it where the only part we can make unique is the face and have preset
At Minecon it was clearly stated that the only reason for not including it is a legal one, and as such it's blocked by Microsoft. They said something along the line of the first thing somebody will do is create a Nintendo character (refering to Mario I assume).
Yes because developers have never, ever, ever lied about anything. As awesome as 4J is, I still think that the legal reason isn't the real reason but possibly a cover up for another reason.
