I've never had this problem...but my sister has, and it seems kinda weird that no matter what game I play, Minecraft never lets me get confused with the controls, but see if you can change it in the controls Interface.
Uh, yeah... What's your point? I think you read my post horribly wrong. My problem is with flight activation, not ignorance of controls, I'm mostly comfortable with them.
Edit: I did read that wrong, now that I think about it. >.<
I agree, this is poor design. Prospective view should be moved to the D-pad... Who in their right mind would argue with this suggestion? 4j got it wrong, plain and simple. This fix should be priority and put in the next update..

That would clash with creative mode controls. They would have to do away with perspective switching in creative altogether. Or they would have to scrap the fine tune controls, which I hope would never happen.

Well then instead of the D-pad, they could simply move it to the select menu. Problem solved.

Settings menu would make more sense. But yeah, same concept. Either way, I like the idea. Clicking to sprint just makes more sense for an analog controller, double tap is meant for buttons and keyboards.
First up. Ok, fine. Mojang doesn't make the Xbox version. 4J does. Thanks for the tutorial (and everyone who echoed it needlessly). Granted it's a fair comment -- it helps to address who is responsible -- but I'd point out "MOJANG" appears on the big title screen when I start up, I think this is an understandable mistake.
Second of all, if it never happened to you, I'm happy for you. But I've never seen a game where they do this nonsense. The left button is navigation, and pressing on the joystick (which is very easy to do) is effectively inverting your directional control. That's a stupid design choice in any video game.
I agree, change POV button or add something in the option to disable POV (I never use it). It doesn't happen very often but the odd time I accidently press the button and it gets me killed, very frustrating.
The ability to make a custom button setup would be nice, I think only three controller configurations is a little bit limited. The only problem Ive had with the controls is accidentally clicking the right stick trying to knife somebody during PVP haha too much Black Ops Zombies gets me. Left stick never seems to have given me any trouble though...
I agree that you should be able to map the button layout to your liking, instead of having to pick from one of three generic settings. I do this all the time myself, panic clutch the controller, and get creeper bombed. grrrr
And does it REALLY matter that that the OP post a bit of a rant, and used the wrong developers name? Really???? Maybe some people are taking their Minecraft knowledge and Forum persona just a little too seriously. See... I guess I ranted a lil bit to. I'm now ready to receive my public flogging.
And they say cracked is whack.. Pffft...

Custom layout would rock.

Want to use the "unused" Dpad? There's a setting for that too.
If you're driving you've learned to deal with a gas pedal (which is also not a good thing to press when you get excited).
