i think it would be cool if we could include a setting of which mobs r in the game such as creeper or cow. being able to turn them on or off in the menu. but giving them items that only that certain mob can give u. jus an idea.
You can already turn hostile mobs off in a game by changing to peaceful. I guess that would be kind of cool to turn off passive mobs in a game too though. I'm not sure if I am getting what your saying.

Acting like a creeper in your signature is too mainstream.
I believe the OP means turning each individual type of mob off. This would be interesting for certain type of specially made maps. Like for a zombie apocalypse where only zombies roam the earth. ><

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
that actually would be interesting, especially for folks who like fighting monsters, but hate running the risk of a creeper blowing their work up! I know a lot of people have made mods for the PC to accomplish this exact thing, but that doesn't really help those of us playing on the 360, so adding an option to control this would be a positive boon to us.
If you do want all of the monsters to spawn, then you just leave it on its default settings and never worry about it.
Have you considered adding maybe a spawn rate option to this? Maybe having the default spawn rate as the base line and then having it either multiply or divide from there. the option would look sort of like this.
You'd then just check how many you want to spawn at a time and go from there.
So if you want to go to the opposite scale of this idea and want to see creepergeddon, all you'd do is open up the spawn menu set it to creepers only and then check the box for x4, and wait for nightfall.
It'd actually be fun just to make a map for this game type. you'd set up a viewing platform with beds and have everyone sleep in them and then have everyone go down into the playing field and see who can survive in the wild the longest!
I think it would be interesting to have control over which types of hostile mob spawn. I've been craving a zombie map so that I can rock the Left 4 Dead skins with my friends. Spawn eggs will work for enclosed stronghold-type builds, but you can't exactly go around littering an entire map with them. That would take forever, and they wouldn't respawn. And since it doesn't look like we'll be getting mob spawners any time soon (or ever?) it would be pretty convenient to just be able to toggle specific types of mobs.
knottykitty that exactly wat im thinking. even with spawn eggs either other mobs can spawn or none at all at spawners dont stop other mobs from spawning either

But then again in the next update we can just use spawn eggs for that.

Nope, which is why I support your suggestion!
