Alright so I've been throwing this idea around in my head the past couple days, wanted to see if some discussion could come of it. The idea: a multiplayer mode, that does not require you having to invite friends, and is set on a loop to start a new game once the last one has finished. For example, you start up Minecraft, in the Main Menu, there is now a mini-games section. Upon entering, you can simply hit "Quick Match", where it throws you in the next available game lobby, or you can choose a specific type of game to play from a list.
As for the games, there could be tons of possibilities, but what I had in mind were mainly things like Spleef Arenas, PVP/Survival Arenas(Hunger Games sorta), mob fighting arenas where you fend off multiple waves of mobs, might even have a co-op capability, time test parkour arenas, maybe a type of "Enderpearl Throw" contest, capture the flag, king of the hill. I don't know, like I said, there are tons of possibilities. But I just wondered if this would even be possible with Minecraft on XBLA. On pc there are servers that dedicate to these types of games, and there are other games on xbox that have this exact type of multiplayer capability, but I just don't know enough about it to say whether it is possible or not.
You could do this already, where you just set up a world full of mini games, and then start a thread in the find players section, but I think if there were servers dedicated to this, where anyone that was online could join in the games without hassle, it would be alot more fun. And you wouldn't have to worry about people screwing around in your world instead of playing the games as intended.
