Hey guys I did a search on the title and didn't come up with anything but im sure I am hmm ot the only person who wishes we had a block with bedrock properties but was clear like glass . . . And maybe had less lines gking through it
I just really think this would be a great creative addition and would be great for "The walls" or smaller hunger games maps. I know I specifically want it for my recreation of rixiot's nail map as I have the sponge wired to set off tnt for either the invaders or the defenders based on the conditions I have set up. Basically the losing teams emblem explodes upon the other team winning and I just thought it would be nice to place it in front of the emblem so griefers could not stack tnt up to it and blow it up before the conditions for victory were met by either team. I would love to hear some input from everyone else tho.
End portal frame. "Transparent" according to the game, but maybe not what you're looking for.
Unless im not understanding you I meant an unbreakable block but with the appearance of a glass block. Like bulletproof glass . . . Call it lexan If you want. I just think it would be something nice to have for creative mode for arenas or in my case to protect something that you still want people to see. I.e. a scoreboard
Hence why we should stop asking for stupid skin packs and start demanding block packs. I personally believe that these would sell much better then skin packs, extend the game, and increase creativity. When one stops and thinks a bit there are TONS of blocks that could come in block packs.
I think that anyone whom has the block pack should be able to 'craft/use' the blocks, and everyone can see them. Those who don't have the pack should they try and pick up or place would show as dirt or some other generic block type.
Due to memory constraints I highly doubt adding new dimensions are possible. Block packs are easily doable however. Just in glass alone I could think of many, such as colored glass or stained glass, reinforced glass that has a blast resistance like obsidian, a creative glass that can't be broken in normal play mode, ect.

You mean like boundaries for a PVP map or something? Or like glass but completely clear and very strong (I realize both options sound about the same)?

New dimensions sounds more plausible than new blocks, to be honest. All the current vanilla realms are fairly limited and pale in comparison to the overworld. The Nether and End dimensions don't have biomes to worry about, only a handful of different blocks and materials, and far simpler terrain generation. When leaving the overworld, those chunks are no longer stored in on-board memory, they are waiting in some sort of cache, a partition in the HDD. When you return, this all comes rushing back into RAM during the loading screen. A pack of completely new blocks gives the game a bunch more block IDs that it will have to keep track of. I think both of these ideas are possible, sequential to ANVIL, but extra realms wouldn't be nearly as taxing on the hardware as you think.

Proof: netherwart doesn't grow if your not in the nether, as long as your in the nether, however, it grows. slowly.
On topic though, I wish that we had boundaries we could set up, at least in creative, with different settings, similar to the "trust players" options.
for a PvP arena, PvP on, place and break blocks off, there ya go.
That don't much matter if you think about it, When the end arrives that will give 3 realms or dimensions. Now new blocks are easily doable we all know that adding things to the crafting table and such don't mean that any realms need to be modified, only the new block data needs to be added to the code.
However adding another dimension with new blocks is HIGHLY more complicated and WILL use more ram, resources. If you can't see this then you really are not thinking correctly. If there are 3 or 4 players each in a different realm then all realms will be loaded, and ram will be stretched to the limit.
Don't try and correct me on this cause I'm right. NoseJob you might think your right on this one but your highly wrong. Adding new blocks is something that can be done easily a brand new realm on the other hand with new blocks is way more work and more resources taken against the already taxed 360.

Dang it... I always forget about split-screen. I had a good argument there too. Well played sir, good show, I have been bested.

i wont pay for skins or blocks the skin pack almost kills it for me. why pay for it when pc does it for free. if they really need to make money off this, id only buy a skin and block creator/editor. other then that i wont pay for either skins or blocks. i think its silly to charge someone for moveing pixels around. if block expansions came out i wouldnt pay to play,

Your joking right? It's like $2 and it supports future updates?

paying for this sceem/scam. the only way for them (microsoft/4j) to make money off minecraft. on the pc, half got it for free, half use cracked versions, the rest of us paid once for the game. no other way to make money except to port to xbox or iphones, so they can charge for stuff that was free and fan based on the pc. i would pay for a program on the xbox, that let me edit skins and blocks as much as i want. pay for skin and block packs so they can nickle and dime me.. no thank you. i would pay for an expansion that brought the whole game to a higher level. these skin packs or block packs will not have some future update support feature
o.0 im such an idiot for not thinking that. I mean, how else would they pay their workers.
there doing tons of work for "free" right now as in were on TU9 we didnt pay for each update. yes they got paid from what MC brings in on its name. it wasnt because we bought tittle updates

honestly, i'd rather see a dimension pack containing a new dimension and new blocks, mobs, etc.
folks could probably get more money than i would like to admit from me selling that sort of add-on.

Oh man. Never thought I'd see the day...
I can see where this is going, but it would be a very powerful griefing tool...
