If they are going to add all that tekkit crap, then they should add a shield that you can put in the chest plate spot on the armor interface, and these shields have the protection of a diamond suit of armor, but when you have one on, you can't put other armor on, it covers your whole body, and the shield should be similar to that in halo 3, where it has protection, but it wears out more rapidly than other armor, the armor bar blinks red, and you have no extra protection, but it will go back to full if you don't take damage for the next five seconds. Yes, this shield should be ridiculously hard to make, because it's so good. This shield should only wear out from critical hits. There should be an upgrade table, similar to the enchantment table, but for machinery like this. You should be able to upgrade it so it shocks players hitting the armor with a sword, and by shock, I mean do two hearts of damage per hit to player hitting player with shield.
Most of the things you mentioned will not be exclusive, removed from vanilla minecraft for a reason or things that will be in the game in a later update.
Mobs:
-Frogs. Found on lillypads. Two flavors; harmless and poisonous. Regular frogs when cooked provide frog legs for food. Poisonous frogs when placed in a caldron give poisonous ichor, collectible with bottles. Can be thrown at mobs or combined with arrows for poisonous arrows.
-Snakes. Spawn anywhere except mushroom and snow biomes. Two flavors; same as frogs. Cooked gives meat to eat. Various poisonous species that vary by biome, and have various degrees of effective poison. An Indian Taipan is much more poisonous than, say, a black mamba. Snakes can bite when provoked with a non-weapon, or moving too fast while near them. Harmless snakebites make you grunt, but no damage. Receive damage from poisonous snakes, based on the species.
-Bears. Biome specific types. Brown/black bears for forest. Polar for snow. Grizzly can spawn almost anywhere. Will attack if provoked. If cubs are in tow, will attack on sight. Killing them gives meat, skin for armor (same as leather, just looks different), and occasionally a rug for floor or wall decoration. Grizzly and polar like water. If killed near water, chance to drop raw fish.
Food;
-Corn. Seeds can be found in spawn room chests. Rare, but can be found growing in the wild. Takes time to grow, like wheat. Harvesting gives ears or corn. Can be cooked to make popcorn. Ears can be turned into more seed. When used in brewing stand, gives fuel.
Craftables;
-Lantern. Iron ingot + five glass panes + one string + one button + one flint & steel. Needs fuel to function. Provides 14 light when held, and starts lowering when fuel is close to empty. Can be placed on ground or walls. Will break and spread fire if used as a weapon when it has fuel. Will shut off if out of fuel (can be refilled). Turned off when not in hands. Can be manually turned off when on ground or wall. Does not consume fuel when off.
-Lightnbulb. Gold nugget + redstone + glass pane. Provides 14 light. Must be powered to turn on. Chickens will tend to lay more eggs near one. Cats (when added) and dogs attracted by the warmth. Will eventually burn out.
-Nightvision goggles. Two redstone + two glowstone + leather + glass pane + redstone torch. Tints your vision green, but better visibility at night. Mobs stand out. Blinds you durring daytime. Any low level enchantment will let it act as plain iron helmet armor as well.
A follower system. You can find an NPC in a village who you can get to follow you. He has his own inventory that you can put stuff in, he also fights off mobs.
You can travel to the moon, maybe a moon portal, or a rocket, mine the cheese(It could be made of cheese in this) and you can eat it.
Catapult. You can place any block in it launch it in the air, you can even launch yourself, even though it would kill you
The moon idea is actually really cool. Making a rocket that acts as a teleporter is also very cool. Imagine a moon biome with alien mobs, moon stone for crafting new armor/tools, and cheese like you said, because why not!
EDIT: AND, perhaps reduced gravity or no oxygen. Must have a special helmet or something?

You know what thing has been bothering me for a while...the fact that you can only have stacks of 16 snowballs, but it takes 9 to make a snow brick... it would be nice if they would stack 64 like everything else, would really help with carry capacity a bit (I mean, it's SNOW for crying out loud, is there a reason why the stacks are so small?)
Maybe snow golems who stay away from water and rain they already can open doors not sure if that's a glich but making them smarter is a good idea or bugs than move around that don't do much kind of like bats on PC birds that you can kill for food would be cool

nice idea with the colored sand and glass i agree.
and snow is not as important i mean its just snow

Like the idea, multiple purposes as well, i would also suggest corn seen being food for chickens too. Fuel would be nice for furnaces as well and possible modifier for potions too.
The turnout of this topic was absolutely incredible. Thanks for making this topic noticeable for 4J. There's so many possibilities of what 4J can do with this game, and since the awesome community is giving these insane ideas, who knows what could happen. Keep it up guys!
I think there should be a larger online multiplayer then just 8 people maybe bump it up to something like 16 or 20 people allowed in one server. i also think commands should be introduced into xbox edition like teleport and controlling weather. and last but not least i would like to see new generated structures (not even in computer edition yet) such as volcanoes, quick sand pits, glaciers, crystal caves, wolves den, creeper generator, and abandoned npc villages.
Some people have been having problems with not having any blaze spawners in their worlds, I have thought of a way to fix this.
Make the spawning similar to the wither skeleton from the PC version, so there wouldn't have to be blaze spawners, instead, the player could find them randomly throughout the fortress. There would be no need for a blaze spawner anymore, though.
