I was thinking they should make it so that if lightning struck sand or you set it on fire, it would turn into glass. This would mainly be aesthetic, unless you did a separate block that, when mined, would become a glass block. Maybe quartz or something.
So lightning strikes a beach, turns a sand block into a quartz block, then when you mine it it becomes a glass block
When all of xbox minecraft has caught up, please make an expansion to the worlds. Its has become hard to do anything close to pc when you have a world that fits only 1 map. In addition, If there is to be an expansion, please apply them to existing worlds so that we may continue on the world(s) that have taken time to build.(Not just on creative mode). For an resolution, you could possibly have it randomly generate chunks around the already exsisting map. I ,and I am sure many others, do not wish to start all of the other survival maps over just to have updates applied such as "The End".
Here are the ideas that I endorse with a few suggestions:
Backpack:
It can be used to store extra stacks of resources while collecting or extra tools.
Grapple Hook:
This can be used to pull your self up or across a cliff or ravine. Other uses may be to pull your self across a body of water or to an island.
Zip Line:
The zip line would be very beneficial in circumstances where there are large mountains and valleys. One would be able to travel above a gorge via a zip line to gain access to the other side, possibly where they have a mine or another structure or even for a quick escape!
Other:
Locked chests:
The chest is built with one diamond and 7 planks, which gives it the appearance of having a diamond lock. This feature makes it impossible for any player, other then the creator and host to open or remove it.
(I know the idea has been mentioned elsewhere, but I don't know 4J's standing on locked chests).
Due to the issues with the "new world needed to get blah" thing...I would like to see some form of way that a person could re-seed their world. This would be an option that you can choose the first time playing a world after an update, and it would come with a warning that everything resets, including all your structures/chests/etc. That way, even if you'd have to re-get a bunch of things in chests if you accepted, you'd be able to use/see/do things that would only be possible by doing a completely new world.
Perhaps there may also be a message to remind you to save a copy to the cloud before you continue...just in case you have some things you want to preserve, regardless of the lack of new features. Would be great for any servers/seeds you've played ENTIRELY on survival mode, so you don't lose the ability to keep achievements since you would need creative to do it otherwise.
Ability to craft nether brick (perhaps throw netherack into furnace)
Perhaps the ability to dye brick, glass, sand, etc...
A way to share a world with another player so the "host" does not have to be on all the time. (My #1 request)
A way to expand inventory capacity?
More kinds of crops
Add more types of weapons, perhaps guns, flamthrower, clubs, etc...
More material types to build with if possible
Ability to know what enchantment you are picking
Dogs respawn (at least if killed by a player)

(I know the idea has been mentioned elsewhere, but I don't know 4J's standing on locked chests). I like this Idea I hate people taking my stuff from my chests but I don't think it should require a diamond maybe like Iron or gold.
I wouldn't mind a couple game fixing features like Anvils and trading first.
Then maybe I would want another Dimension like the Sky dimension because who really likes the END dimension after you've killed the dragon?
Dedicated servers.
Crossbows, Maces and Waraxes all with their own unique enchantments to separate them from the normal sword.
Maybe a different style of armour such as a mix of iron and leather to make a early game armour better than normal leather.
Shaped TNT charges that can destroy up to 12 blocks in a single direction for bunker busting in PvP maybe it could also have an effect in water with the extra power.

Your arctic biome could feature glaciers of ice and deep snow which the player would sink into like soul sand.
Good idea?

I put my shirt on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.
The idea of this topic is for all Minecrafters alike to list every amazing idea they think of for the Xbox edition of Minecraft. These ideas can be anything from additional mobs, new blocks, different biomes, various buttons and functions... Basically any additional beneficial challenges or features that you can think of.
The goal of this topic is for 4J and the community to view the players' opinions and ideas of what can be added into Minecraft for Xbox. We will discuss anything on the subject of Exclusive features.
Feel free to list anything you think of. Some absolutely incredible ideas already listed are:
Backpacks
Colored glass
A plethora of new foods and mobs
Markers to set so you can view landmarks via map
Glowstick/ Flashlight
Different world features and generated structures
An additional note: It is confirmed that the user Padware, (4J worker) has seen the thread. People, 4J is noticing your amazing ideas, so please keep them coming!
And as always, thanks for reading.
Sounds interesting. Odds are, maybe not a flashlight, just given how minecraft is. But maybe when you hold a torch it should generate light around you... To be honest, I've been waiting for them to add the Jungle biome to 360, and with it ocelots. It would be nice to be able to have both a dog and a cat.

I think a great addition to the xbox version would be to bring more items forward from the PC version. I'm talking about upside down stairs and slabs, trading with testificates, and of course, the end, but also adding a plethura of new foods. Like in the PC version where there are carrots, potatoes and pumkin pie, but also simple things like apple sauce from apples, and how about something simple as warm mushroom stew, instead of "milking" (or what ever it is you do to) a Mooshroom and drinking the stew right there. I think simple things like that that make the game just a little more realitic would be a great addition.

I'm pretty sure that title update 8 is equivalent to PC's 1.2.3 where all of that is introduced. After that, no more PC stuff will implemented into the game, and they will just add ideas from this forum into the game.
New tropical biome where there's nice flat beaches and mangrove trees along the coastline. The water along the coastline could be a nice crystal clear blue/green color and there could be some sea-life like coral reefs(maybe give sponges a purpose).
-Corn would be a nice addition, so I could grow my big corn field I always wanted . They could grow 2 or 3 blocks high and you're able to walk through them like sugarcane.
-Rice Paddy. You grow them in water(maybe only 1 block deep) and they grow thicker and taller as they grow, similar to wheat. The color should should stay green though. You could make bowls of rice to go along with chicken or pork.
-Carrots and potatoes similar to the PC version.
-Pumpkin pie
-Lamb meat. You could add another growing stage between baby lamb and full grown sheep, maybe just called lamb, where you can get lamb meat from.
-Hay. You could make hay bales(maybe new block) and feed it to your baby animals to make them grow faster.
-Scarecrows. You could make these out of a pumpkin head, leather armor(or hay) and sticks. They could be used to scare away mobs(passive and hostile) from stepping on your crops.
coral reefs in the ocean biome, that can be mined for coral, sponge and seaweed
This is a really good one, although for Coral you'd have to consider that it, much like sand/glass suggestion, would need to be colored as well.
I would like to find a way to import pictures from your xbox to use for hanging pictures in the game, so that there is more variety than the ones you already have access to, as well as possibly allowing for better "theme" rooms.

I would like to see wires. You could put a block(s) and a drill in a crafting area and that would hollow the block(s) out. Then you could make a wire, right click on the block, and it would put the wire in the block.
I would also like to see colored collars that you can put on any animal. That way, if you have a farm, you could name your animals and know which is which!
They most likely will never do xbox exclusive features, I believe that they are still going for cross-platform gaming (pc-xbox), the xbox exclusive features would destroy this. I know I am waiting for cross-platform so my xbox friends can begin playing on servers with me and my stream viewers. Most of these ideas can/are already implemented in pc editions mods. So here is all you should really request, mod-interface for xbox minecraft (of course this would be added after pc mod interface is set up). This would lighten the load on mojang coders, allow xbox minecrafters to get a close enough experience to us pc minecrafters, it'd allow diversity in xbox minecrafts (mods would be distributed through online downloads and such). And finally It would also allow xbox minecrafters to get rid of what they don't want.
Some how, some way if its possible to make an underground map of sorts, sometimes these Mine Shafts and cavern systems go on forever and for the most part it's easy to find my way back, but it would be nice to have the map to see where everything truly is down there.
So lightning strikes a beach, turns a sand block into a quartz block, then when you mine it it becomes a glass block

Keys can lock doors and chests. So people/greifers cannot go inside.
Those are all actually really good ideas!
